This season, top 3 most anticipated Jdramas as I mentioned in previous post,
Turns out, being a working adult, there is quite nothing to do besides Studying for my upcoming Japanese exams and simply knock off, relax and watch shows.
Especially KimuTaku's Nankyoku Tairiku.
Was kinda felt awed by the whole production team and the casts beside KimuTaku.
Plus those cute Siberians dogs ( Is that their species name? )
Love those cute doggies and the fur, OMFG. How I wish i could touch them as well! >.<
Well, Nazodi was kinda fan service and funny but Nankyoku's solid plot and theme truly inspired and attracted me to it.
Would watch it straight into 2-3am into the night when a new episode released. [ I still needa wake up by 7am for the next morning thou]
It speaks of the Japan's Post war era theme, the need to break free of war shame and to rebuild Japan's pride and standings among the World. It was really inspirational and heartwarming drama.
Perhaps something that Japan reallly really need right now.
To get up on their feet and find true strength to survive the hardship again.
To stay positive and recover as much as possible from the March 11 disaster.
To inspire the Japanese audiences and to remind them about how Japan had tried to overcome the past history and walked her path till today. They cannot give up, they mustn't give up and they should continue to strive on.
Perhaps it is the eternal influence of Mdm Lim Beng Choo's JS2216 Japanese Postwar films and anime that I took during my very first sem in NUS. The knowledge, the ideology and the reasons still stuck inside my head and inspires me to think into these viewpoints and reasons whenever I watched a movie or dramas.
Why did the director choose to direct this movie?
What did the director choose this time to release the film?
What is the rationale behind for releasing this film?
How does it coincides/affects the audiences after watching them?
What MESSAGE did the Director want to convey to the Audiences?
Those are the kinda simple questions that will never fail to make me try and understand about each movie I watched.
Which is often fast and kinda make sense, if its any accurate, I will not know unless someone from that field tells me, but most of my friends will show me a look : Oh, that's how it is [aka. Naruhodo~]
As for Nankyoku Tairiku, the most apparent reason must be the March 11 disaster, where the director hope to instill hope to the Japanese again to find their hope and goal among this abyss.
The display of perseverance, friendship bonds, humanities, never-yielding strength and kindness.
Was always been overwhelm by these themes that I perceived after each episode.
It was that intriguing and great, plus the fantastic snowy location at Hokkaido.
Though it was supposed to be a Journey to Antarctica, it was actually filmed in a colder side of Hokkaido according to magazine source.
Nevertheless, it was still a great piece of work which I am always anticipating for the next episode.
Moreover, this also reminds me about my core Geog module's on Antarctica and Arctic issues in the World.
The no men zone of Antarctica, dedicated solely for scientific and scholarly research.
The majestic Soya ship docked on the ice sheets.
It was such an interesting and breathtaking sight behold.
I recommend you to watch it if you can. The theme is great and the casts are good, plus the location is beautiful as well as the cute dogs.
