3. Kei had begun speaking at an earlier age than the average child, and he certainly continued his trend in beginning to read at an early age. When his father would sit at the kitchen table some mornings and read the newspaper, Kei would crawl into his lap and ask what every single word was and what its meaning was.
From an early age it was evident that Inoo Kei had potentional.
However, he wasn’t the strongest physically. Kei began walking a lot later than the average child would, and this was one of his weaknesses. Even when as a child his parents would sit on either side of him and gently push him over to teach him how to sit, Kei would easily be able to sit up, but when it came to actually standing using his legs he immediately fell as soon as he stood.
From an early age it was evident that Inoo Kei had struggles.
6. Boxes were piled outside the doorway down the hall. There was a man who would every so often come out and pick up a box before returning back through the doorway.
Little Kei was leaning on the doorframe of his apartment, carefully biting his thumbnail as his big eyes following the movement of the man who would keep on going back and forth between inside and outside the door.
They were new neighbours.
Earlier that day Kei had been lying in his room playing with his plastic dinosaurs. His dinosaurs resided on his rug that had the image of a cartoon city, complete with houses, cars, roads and all, printed on it. He’d been in the middle of a game of ‘exctinction’ when he’d heard a crash, a few strained words being mumbled and the muffled sound of shoes. The little boy sat up slowly and turned his head towards his door, waiting for more noise to come. More voices could be heard and a door creaking open as well as more footsteps which perked the youngster’s curiousity. Dropping his toys Kei quickly got to his feet and hurried to the door which he found half open. Poking his head through the door Kei saw his mother outside, and she was talking to someone. Taking a few more steps out he rested his cheek on the doorframe and silently watched his mother speaking animatedly with the other.
From his new position he could get a clearer view of the other person; a woman. She was about his mother’s height if not just a tiny bit shorter, had dark, straightened hair that framed her face and the beginning of bags under her eyes. Blinking his eyes Kei continued watching the two as they kept their conversation going.
A small movement caught Kei’s attention and he moved his eyes from the two women speaking downwards and noticed a small boy clutching onto the other woman’s pants. Suddenly fidgeting Kei took another step out and went from leaning his cheek on the doorframe to holding his hand out against the wall and lightly pressing himself back and forth, his eyes on the child. The little boy who was holding the woman’s pants had turned to look at Kei, who had now decided to slide down against the wall and sit with his back to it.
Eventually the two women were interrupated by a man who came in carrying two boxes and asked something to the other woman. A few last words were exchanged before the two ladies parted ways, Kei’s mother made her way back to the apartment and the other woman with the boy still having a tight grasp on her dress went with the man down the hallway and stopped at a door. The woman brought out a set of keys and inserted them into the lock before opening the door for the man.
“Are you alright, Kei?” The little boy looked from the woman to his mother hovering above him, her smiling face making him giggle. His mother brought her hands to him and cupped his face, rubbing his cheeks with her thumbs. Kei leaned forward into his mother’s embrace and encircled his hands around her neck, letting her pick him up and carry him into their apartment.
The next day he’d woken up earlier than his parents like he always did. Still in his pajamas he tip-toed into the living room and turned on the TV, climbed onto the couch and made himself comfortable as he watched ‘Johnny Bravo’ prancing across the screen. Smiling to himself the little boy hardly noticed as two hours passed by quickly, his mother having woken up in the meantime and begun making breakfast for their family. Once his father had arrived his mother came and turn on the TV which caused the younger boy to whine and fuss as his mother pulled him to the kitchen table where she’d prepared him white rice. After breakfast their father had collected his materials he hugged Kei and kissed his wife goodbye before heading out the door. Once he had gone Kei promptly left the kitchen to go watch a bit more TV even though the cartoons were long over. The sound of china clinging with metal and a strange bubbling noise brought Kei’s attention back to the kitchen.
Slipping off the couch he quickly skipped to the counter where his mother was and stood on his toes, watching his mother work.
“What are you doing?” he asked in a questioning voice, though his eyes were clearly interested in her actions.
“Making some coffee, dear.” She hummed to herself, pouring the boiling water into three ceramic cups.
“Why? Daddy already left...” He watched as his mother placed the cups one by one on the table and placed fresh slices of bread into the toaster.
“These are for our new neighbours. You know they only arrived yesterday so I doubt they have any solid food prepared yet. Don’t you think they should have some proper breakfast, Kei?” The little boy nodded and slowly left the kitchen, looking back once more to see his mother take the bread slices out of the toaster and pile them onto a white plate.
He returned to the couch and continued watching TV, some American TV show was on. His eyes were glued to the screen, completely unaware of his mother leaving and returning a while later with a group of people behind her. Only when the chatter started did he realized that his mother had invited people into their apartment, and when he looked he recognized the woman from yesterday.
“Kei! Come here for a minute, dear.” His mother’s voice had him turn her direction before he carefully got off the couch and stepped into the kitchen. There was a man at the table drinking the coffee his mother had made, the woman from yesterday looking back at him with a smile, and the little boy who had been attached to her leg on a chair munching on a piece of toast. He looked up at his mother with uncertainity in his eyes and his mom held out her hand. He lightly took a hold of it and brought his other hand up to his mouth and began to lightly chew his thumbnail, something he always did when he was a bit shy or nervous.
His mother slowly lead him to the woman and introduced her to him. Her name was Arioka Momochi. She gave a bright smile and greeted him with a small hand on his arm, a warm gesture which he enjoyed. His mother then pointed across the table to the man who had been sipping the coffee. His name was Arioka Yuu. He raised his mug and uttered a ‘hello’, and Kei leaned into his mother, feeling nervous around the man. The woman then leaned forward towards the boy was eating his toast and placed him on her lap, her arms circling his waist and hugging him to her chest. His name was Arioka Daiki. He’d been awkwardly quite as he’d been introduced by his mother. He was younger than he was, apparently, even though they looked the same age. The two woman had gotten to having a light conversation as Kei kept his eyes on the little boy who was still nibbling his toast and had his gaze directed at the floor. Cautiously the other boy looked up and held out his toast to Kei.
9. Kei and Daiki were lazing around in front of the TV. They were at the Inoo’s apartment on a Sunday noon, the two of them on the floor in front of the TV instead of on the couch behind them. Kei had a children’s book open and was flipping through the pages with his palm, admiring the pictures that were printed across every page. Daiki sat a bit behind him, leaning on his arms and his foot touching Kei’s back. There was movie on TV, a cartoon movie, and Daiki was very into it, his eyes following the characters that moved across the screen. Kei had seemed content with getting out his book and joining Daiki in the living room, then directing all of his attention on the book. His mother was in the kitchen making a late lunch, her footsteps, the TV and Kei’s page-flipping being the only sounds in the apartment.
After finishing the last page Kei shut the book and fell back, his back colliding with Daiki’s stomach who tss’d at his friend.
“Kei~” he whined. “What are you doing~? I want to watch...” His voice died down at the end as his attention was brought back to the movie.
“It’s comfortable here.” Kei retorted. He began picking his fingernails and brought his knees up a little.
“Stop moving.” Daiki said, his eyes still glued on the scene and his hands on Kei’s shoulders. Said boy who was lying in his lap looked up at his friend.
“I’m making myself more comfortable.” Daiki quickly looked down at Kei’s round face and returned his gaze to the TV.
“You said you were comfortable.” Kei began moving further back into Daiki and smiled, his arms moving behind the boys legs and pulling himself further up.
“More! More!” he chanted.
“Okay! Shh!” Daiki pressed Kei down into his lap again. “I want to watch...”
There were a few minutes of silence where Daiki watched the movie and Kei continued picking the dirt out from under his nails. He then turned to look up at at Daiki once more with a smile on his face.
“Daiki is nice... you smell like sweets.” The other boy looked at his friend and blushed as he saw the adorable smile that was playing on his lips. Fidgeting a bit Daiki suddenly felt something and a confusion was painted all over his face.
“K-Kei...” he began, his voice uneasy.
“Mm?” Said boy tilted his neck further so he could get a good look at his friend who seemed to be bothered by something.
“Stop doing that, it’s not funny.” Daiki said, his gaze falling on Kei who wore a puzzled look.
“Stop doing what?” he asked. The younger boy moved his arms down to Kei and began to lightly push the other boy away.
“M-m... G-get off me, please.” He stuttered.
“Why?” Kei began whining as the warmth he’d felt around him began to disappear.
“Kei~ you’re making me feel weird.” Daiki struggled as his friend tried to retrieve his place on his lap.
“Why? I’m sorry!” the older apologized, worry lacing his voice. Daiki looked up and saw Kei’s face, his eyebrows scrunched together, his eyes staring him down and his mouth pouting. His face reddened at the sight and he quickly shoved the older boy off of him.
“Get off!” Kei fell backwards and Daiki quickly scrambled to his feet and ran towards the kitchen, ignoring Kei’s yells.
“Ouch! Daiki! Meanie!”
Inside the kitchen Mrs. Inoo was still making lunch, but at the sound of the boys’ argument and the pitter patter of feet, she turned to see Daiki pulling at the hem of his shirt and looking quite flustered.
“Hm? What is it Daiki?” She leaned down to his height. “Why aren’t you with Kei?” She asked. When she saw the younger boy squirming and looking from left to right she laughed to herself. “Ah, or do you need the bathroom?”
Daiki shook his head and kept his gaze locked with floor. He kept switching from one leg to the other which amused Mrs. Inoo since the sight was something adorable to behold. Suddenly Daiki started sobbing which surprised Mrs. Inoo. He let go of his shirt and pointed down at his pants.
“Look what Kei did to me!” he cried, tears streaming down his face.
Mrs. Inoo tried to hide her smile as Daiki continued sobbing at the uncomfortable reaction his body was going through. Suddenly Kei ran into the kitchen and looked between his mother and friend.
“What did I do?” he shouted in disbelief. The boy had no idea why his friend was crying but he had overheard that it was because of him and he was worried he might’ve hurt the younger boy somehow.
“Ah, Kei!” His mother exclaimed. She hurridely went towards Daiki and took his hand before making her way towards their door. “I need to bring Daiki to his mother now, he’s feeling a bit ill. But I promise he’ll be back soon, alright?” Holding Daiki’s hand Kei’s mother followed him out of the apartment, Daiki sniffling all the while.
“Mm...” Kei grumbled and puffed his cheeks.
12. Leaving two 12-year olds home alone may have been the dumbest mistake Mr. Arioka had ever made.
One day when he had a day off and his mouth was out shopping he got an invite from his friends asking him if he’d like to go have a drink with them. At first he declined, but his friends were persistent and kept on pestering him until he said he’d see if he could. He glanced at the wall clock from his position by his desk in his office. It was just a little before six o’clock and his wife would be home soon. His son, Daiki, was sitting with his friend, the neighbour boy Kei, on the couch and flipping through channels on the TV. Thinking the boys were old enough to stay at home for 20 minutes and not get into any trouble in the mean time since they were distracted by the TV, Mr. Arioka abandonded the work at his desk and got dressed. He checked on his son and his friend on last time and smiled to himself to see them being boys, leisurely flipping through channels with the remote and bickering with each other about whatever adventures they’d been through that day. Mr. Arioka announced that he’d be leaving and that Daiki’s mother would be home in about half an hour. Both of the boys nodded and Daiki went and hugged his father goodbye before returning to the couch with Kei who had gotten his hands on the remote and had taken on the role of flipping through random channels.
Shutting and locking the door after himself Mr. Arioka hurried down the stairs to his friends who were waiting for him at the pub, a beer probably ordered and a meal of fish and chips already prepared for him. It had been a while since he’d hung out with the guys and he was surely going to enjoy the time he had with them this time.
Late at around 11 P.M. Mr. Arioka arrived home and fumbled with his keys outside the door. The stench of alcohol followed him as he finally managed to get the key into the hole and stumbled into his apartment, holding his weight against the wall as he shut the door. As he began taking off his shoes he noticed a shadow in front of him and looked up. There stood his lovely wife in her night gown, hands crossed over her chest, her hair let out and a- oh, was that a frown on her face?
“Kei asked about love.” She spoke. Keeping his gaze locked with his wife’s Mr. Arioka kept quiet. He wasn’t really sure if he was supposed to reply to it or not, but after a long silence he spoke back.
“Uh-huh.” He continued removing his shoes. His wife took a few steps closer, her eyes falling to the ground as she spoke.
“And he asked about love between friends. Like a boy with his boy friend and a girl with her girl friend.” She looked up at the end of the sentence, her eyes narrowed.
“Oh... that must’ve been tricky.” His breath reeked of alcohol and his wife had to take a step back, disgust plastered across her face.
“Yes, it was. But I managed. I’d like to think.” Mr. Arioka’s eyes began to slowly slide shut but he kept on listening and nodded.
“That’s good then.” He said, slipping out of his jacket.
“Yeah...” His wife uncrossed her hands and placed them together as if she was praying. ”I told them that,‘sometimes, a lady can love a lady.’”
“Mhm...” He reached up and hung his jacket on a hook.
“And do you know what our son asked me?” she asked in a stern voice. This brought Mr. Arioka out of his drunken daze and he looked over at his wife who seemed to be fuming. Uneasy, Mr. Arioka carefully asked her.
“...What?”
Putting on a fake sweet tone his wife mimicked their son’s voice and innocent behaviour.
“Ohhh... like in daddy’s videos?”
Shit.
He forgot to censor the porno channels.
15. The two boys had stayed over at Inoo’s apartment playing video games the whole night. They woke up a little after noon and reluctantly dragged themselves out of their respective sleeping beds and made their ways out of Kei’s room. Once outside Daiki collapsed onto the couch, still tired and unwilling to help Kei who was in kitchen pouring cereal for the two of them. Daiki turned onto his back and ran his hand over his bare stomach and promptly frowned. After all his sessions of working out with Hikaru he still hadn’t managed to get split abs. He lifted his head a bit to see Kei taking the milk out of the fridge and smiled to himself. At least Kei was worse off than him. The older boy had tried to excercise seriously for three days before giving up and devouring a series of junk food right after, claiming that he needed a reward after such hard work. Daiki snorted at the memory of Kei’s ridiculousness, but he knew that he enjoyed the boy’s flakey side. If Kei actually had managed to get split abs it would be beyond strange since he was so girly and pretty that it’d be downright unnatural if his body belonged to that of an Adonis.
Once Kei came into the room Daiki sat upright as his friend fell onto the seat next to him. Kei handed Daiki his bowl of cereal and turned on the TV to Animal Planet and the two friends enjoyed whatever addicting programme was on as they ate their breakfast and cracked jokes about the show. After their breakfast was done Kei stretched and leaned down, resting his head on Daiki’s chest since the boy was in a half-lying position with his head on the arm of the couch. Flushing, Daiki held his hand over his mouth in hopes of hiding his blush from his friend (and current crush). Kei who seemed oblivious to Daiki’s actions made himself comfortable in his friend’s lap, moving about a bit so he could feel right, turning his body over more so he was facing the TV, resting his entire head on Daiki’s chest, stretching his leg-
Kei stopped.
He had his eyes locked on the TV but something was wrong. He’d felt something. Slowly, he began moving again trying to get into a nice and cozy position when he again stopped dead in his tracks.
This time he definitely felt it.
Kei managed to get a glance at Daiki who had a hand covering half of his face and his eyes focused on the TV.
“Daiki, I...” Kei began, slowly lifting his head off of Daiki’s chest. “What’s up with y-“
“Shut up.”
“What?” Kei asked. He hadn’t even finished the question. His friend was acting sort of... strange.
“D-Daiki, what’s wrong?” A silence followed without either boy saying anything for a full minute. It was only when Kei decided to get up off of his friend and talk to his face that he felt a hand pull him down again. Daiki had his arms snaked around Inoo’s torso, lightly holding onto the white T-shirt he was wearing. Kei peeked at Daiki who still had his pupils set on the TV, not once removing them, not even to witness the reaction Kei was giving to his sudden actions.
Kei kept quiet, his heart beating quickly as he felt Daiki slowly stroke his torso. A light pink coloured his cheeks and his face heated up as his friend continued moving his hands. Slowly Daiki lifted his leg and lay it down on Kei’s, carefully wrapping it around his lower body.
That’s when Kei felt it for sure. One hunded percent sure.
“Daiki...” Kei whispered.
“Please don’t be mad...” Daiki was shaking, his voice quivering as he spoke. Kei let his eyes fall shut as he felt Daiki’s hands begin to tremble.
“I’m not mad.” He said. Suddenly the hands stopped their movement.
“You’re not?” Daiki asked in completed disbelief. Chuckling lightly Kei brought his hands up to Daiki’s and laced their fingers together before pulling his hands closer around him.
“No...” He smiled to himself as Daiki let his tears fall down his cheeks.
“I-I was so s-scared... y-y’know...” he spoke still sniveling and tightened his hold on his friend.
18. Tumbling onto the couch the two of them continued roaming their hands over each other’s bodies. Clothes still intact, but that didn’t matter at the moment since every touch sent a jolt of electricity through their body.
Kei had told his parents that he’d be sleeping over at Daiki’s place that night and Daiki had told his parents the same thing except that he’d be sleeping over at Kei’s place since his parents would be travelling outside of town for two weeks and didn’t want to leave their beloved son all alone. Once Daiki said that he’d be in good care of their neighbours and boyfriend’s parents they left with complete trust in him and an empty apartment, free of any disturbance.
Though teenage boys. They’re a bitch to handle, especially when it comes to sex.
Groaning, Kei pushed Daiki’s shirt up and let his hands explore the paradise underneath. The finely toned abs that he’d managed to get split, they were so firm and hard, yet his skin was smooth and soft. Daiki kept his mouth on his boyfriend’s and began pulling down Kei’s collar, exposing his neck. He then began kissing his jaw and left a trail of butterfly kisses from his lips to the joint between his neck and collarbone, stopping there and lightly biting the flesh. That earned him a loud moan from the boy underneath him who dug his nails into his stomach. Grinning against the sensitive skin Daiki began sucking on it, using his tongue with great expertise to get Kei to wriggle underneath him, his breaths coming out in ragged patterns. Once he was satisified with his work he gave it a bite and licked his way from his boyfriend’s neck to the area where his collarbones met. Kei let moans spill out of his mouth, not at all ashamed at the sounds he was emitting as long as Daiki continued to make him feel good. And Daiki, the little devil, secretly smirked at Kei’s adorable reactions, his eyes darkening with lust and his mind immediately overflowing with thoughts of what he’d do to his pretty, innocent little boyfriend.
A red mark had begun to form on the area where Daiki had previously worked his tongue on; something that showed everyone and anyone, girls and boys, him and the whole world Kei belonged to him and him only.
