The Ukrainian postal service issued a
new stamp in January. Nothing special, just part of the trend. You could also be forgiven to think that it is a peculier reaction to the ongoing conflict with Russia.
To project a certain kind of hatred onto the places and people so detested. This trend cnan be seen in another areas, T-shirts, puzzles, children's pictures, paintings, socks etc...
Except the tormented wishes of burning the Moscow Kremlin didn't start after February 2022. Far from it. Some fools even depict the destruction of St Basil cathedral instead. Just ignorance on their part really, just as the editor and graphic designer for The Economist or Time front page have in the past, easily confusing you see, as they don't care about such trival details.
2018: Ukrainian Infrastructure Minister Volodymyr Omelyan "The Kremlin and Moscow can't be reasoned with. They can only be burned."
No one in the West even flinched at such remarks, yet if a senior Russian official were to say the same about Kiev, there would be much wailing in the Western MSM and expressions of outrage by Western officials.
Fast forward, another Ukrainian repy on twitter in 2020 to a Russian diplomat:
There again, the Kremlin on fire, how courteous and charming (not) but this gives a clear insight into the mind of some, a fixation to see destruction of their adversary. A kind of seething rage at all that is Russian, a viseral hate for Russia. Not exactly what you want as a neighbour.
Over the years since Maidan in 2014, I have seen a few of this bad takes, calling for the destruction of cultural and historical landmarks. Dumber are the takes showing St Basil Cathedral instead of Spasskaya Tower. Ignorance is bliss, especially for those who wouldn't be able to point out Moscow on a physical world map.
Aw that's the Kremlin apparently. Seen on Pinterest
Let's start with the basics, so why not start with ABC.
ABC - a children's book
A children's textbook used to teach the Ukrainian alphabet using cartoon featuring Stepan Bandera’s OUN as the hero and his rebels. M for 'Maskoviya' where a character, Alyarmik leads his “merry band of Banderites” towards Moscow. In the background the Kremlin is burning.
B for BBQ and beer
The screenshot of the Kremlin shaped BBQ had been on sale from 2015, as this
article outlines. It is called "Mordor on Fire".
Cans of beer with labels depicting the burning Moscow Kremlin, produced by the Ukrainian brewery Pravda Beer Theatre in Lvov in 2022. The label is ""New joy has become". They also produced another version of a beer with an insult and the image of the Russian president since 2015.
Except the tormented wishes of burning the Moscow Kremlin didn't start after February 2022. Far from it. Some fools even depict the destruction of St Basil cathedral instead, (just ignorance on their part really, just as the editor and graphic designer for The Economist or T front page have in the past).
C- cartoon
Awww, shucks, isn't that so cute and romantic?
P - paintings
Whether original artwork or AI generated ones, a simple internet search will reveal hundreds of examples. Too many, so I'll quote this instead:"Visualize your dream, pray to the universe and definitely do not get bored with the painting by numbers with the Kremlin on fire."
The quest by some Ukrainians and pro-Ukrainian Western cheerleaders on wanting to destroy Moscow, is somewhat disturbing, maybe they would like to renact what Napoleon did in 1812. We know how that ended.
Work in progress
Any other examples welcomed.
