Last time on the Life & Times of the Kingpin...
I went on strike and it seemed to work...a little TOO well. I went to the comptroller's office and my paycheck was just chillin there like it's been there for weeks. I was happy and sad at the same time, i wanted to have the weekend off so maybe i could go to BU for an evening and watch Alex's Filipino Society Jumpoff Extravaganza! But i got paid, which meant I had to go to work...bastards. I bet they were just waiting for me to say something so that they can throw me a couple dollars and make sure that i come into work. But anyway, the point is that i got paid, half a G (i guess that would make it a "g" then, huh?). So now i'm pretty comfortable with my money situation. It's a good thing too cuz Thanksgiving just passed, and we all know what that means...Xmas shopping. Thanks to the wonders of online shopping, i've completed 2/3 of shopping for my family. I just need to get Mom a gift certificate to her favorite store, Annie's. It's the only thing i can get her that she'll actually use. I'd rather get her something useful than pretty cuz that way i put my money to good use AND i usually end up saving money. But i got Petal her anime DVDs that she's been bitching to me about and I got Dad that Seinfeld DVD box set that he loves so much. I did all of that in less than an hour. Now that i have some ca$h left for myself, there are a couple things i wanna do w/it:
1.) Above all else, i will save some for a rainy day. I'm not gonna blow it all in one place.
2.) Metroid Prime 2, Viewtiful Joe 2, Nintendo DS (& a couple games for it), and Paper Mario 2 (yeah tristan, i said it, what?) are the games that i would like to own, in order of preference. I was also thinking of purchasing an XBOX w/Halo & Halo 2 and XBOX Live, but i'd never get any work done.
3.) Clothes Clothes Clothes. I need a whole new wardrobe. Tristan's New Hood Movement kinda inspired me to get some stuff for myself, but i won't go exactly down the same road he went down(was tristan actually wearing a quintuple X white tee? it felt like a dream...). I'm big, black, and bald. I don't need a hood movement. I'll just get some kicks, maybe some Air Force Ones. I never had a pair of those. A new hoodie, some jeans, some wifebeaters, and new belt or two. And some ICE. Yes, that's right. ICE. Kingpin for real for real.
The day of Alex's Filipino Society Jumpoff Extravaganza! i went to do a lil fundraising with the frat i'm still in. I usually would have thought of it as a waste of time, but there was one thing special about it. It was at Lincoln Financial Field. The Eagles' HOME FIELD. I was hyped. Alex, i'm sorry, but i'll have to put Donovan McNabb over you 9 times out of 10. Ok, maybe 8. But yo, I saw Donovan warming up with T.O., Freddie Mitchell (FredEx), Todd Pinkston (Pink), L.J. Smith, Chad Lewis and some other receivers. I saw David Akers and Dirk Johnson warming up too. I also saw Alex's ex boy, Jevon Kearse. I saw Hugh Douglas and a whole bunch of Eagles. They were playing the Redskins, so i saw Clinton Portis warming up too. No one else is important on that team. Well, maybe LaVar Arrington, but he's injured or something. But as great as all of that was, i was there to work. The frat had to run one of the concession stands and we'd get some of the profits. It's interesting how expensive the shit is there, and how drunken people will drop $50 on peanuts, hot dogs, and beer. But it was a fun experience. I even saw T.O. do that touchdown dance he did in real life. Fuck HDTV and plasma and all that nonsense. Nothings better than actually being there. It was fucking great. And i might do it again this Sunday when the Eagles play the Packers. That's gonna be a good game, but I'd rather not work the stand. One of these days, I'm going to go to a home game and watch Donovan McNabb in all his glory. AND i'm gonna get an autograph. Holla. GO EAGLES! AND JETS! IT'S ALL ABOUT THE GREEN SON!
