I discovered
AutoStitch. It's a standalone and completely free program that lets you take a load of photos of a scene, simply dump them into the program and it automatically stitches them together, crops and adjusts each shot so they seamlessly fit together into one huge photo. For instance, I took three photos of my bedroom and six photos of my living room and it pieced them together into these:

Anyway, looking at the photos above, you'd never know they are the product of multiple photos that have been stitched together. Instead, you get the effect of an EXTREMELY wide-angle fisheye lens since this is about a 180-degree view of the room laid flat. It's really fun to play with.
