Finished: The Hero of Ages (Mistborn 3) by Brandon Sanderson. The first two-thirds continue to suffer from being the middle part of a trilogy. Seriously, I think there is really only enough material for two books and Sanderson pads it to three by having the characters go over and over the same things in their heads. But, that said, it has a great conclusion that I did not expect.
Left 4 Dead: The Sacrifice by Valve Corporation, illustrated by Michael Avon Oeming. I have never played the video game but I have seen it being played. This graphic novel was right up my alley: zombies, a group of survivors banding together, missing scenes from canon, found family. I highly recommend this comic for fans of any of the foregoing. The story explains the world of the game, including the types of zombies, so you won't be lost.
CA:WS Fic: Choice is not a Word a Bullet Knows Part 1:
The Night Has Seen Your Mind and Part 2:
A Face Built for Gettin' Punched (WIP) by bomberqueen17. How Bucky comes in from the cold and what happens once he's in. Bucky has a lot of personality in this and an extra surprise trauma. Natasha and Sam have large roles: Natasha uses her Russian contacts and Red Room experiences to good effect; Sam provides steady, comforting support. Both parts are well over 100,000 words and are packed with plot and relationship. Slash and het.
Currently reading: Nnedi Okorafor's Lagoon. I lost the book and had to borrow it from
caorann.
Next: Not sure. I'm thinking I'll delve deep into my to-be-read pile to find something that's been sitting for a couple of years.
