I continue to look for good, simple advice on taking charge of my money. Today's advice comes from Real Simple magazine (September 2006, not a typo):Put as much money into your 401(k) as the company will match and then either focus on credit card debt or, if you have no debt, put extra money into a Roth IRA.
I don't think I'd seen this emphasis on company match before. While Yes! You Can Get a Financial Life allowed me to relax about the amount of money I was putting into my retirement account, this advice allows me to consider what else to do with my money.
