Evening shift = Cosmos and Cake
So last night was my first official summer hours evening shift. Apparantly during these first few weeks there's hardly ANY business because no one knows we're open late yet, and even throughout the summer when things are busy, hardly any customers show up after 8:00pm. So what did we do all evening? Broke out the cosmo mags and ate chocolate cake! Christine had brought some old cosmos she had and the cake, and then showed me the old pile of cosmo and People magazines that were under the counter. So the three of us sat down to the counter and began to read through the magazines.
Then out of no where a customer showed up. None of us had saw her coming so we were completely caught, the three of us, two of us back on to the customer, with cosmos spread all over the counter, eating cake. She was just here to pick up a delivery of flowers, so Christine ran up to get it for her, and I can't explain the awkwardness we felt when waiting. I mean, there was nothing we could do to fix the situation so we just slowly closed the magazines we were reading and sat there with our tails between our legs. She left and we burst out laughing.
Chris showed up around 8:30pm and joined in the cosmo fun and making fun of the latest eppi of "Flavor of love".
Sadly, Chris couldn't get today off with me :(, but as a consolation prize he bought me pink play-doh! Yay! :D
