I thought my mom an angel, like most of you. After the stroke, I realized different. For example, when we got up for school in the morning. I'm sure most of your mothers were up before you. She was fixing breakfast, helping you get dressed, making sure you looked alright for school. /not my mom. She slept until she woke up on her own. We had to get up on our own, get dressed on our own. We didn't get breakfast.
This is the most notable example of her selfishness. She smoked about a pack a day. When I was 4, I was diagnosed with asthma. You think when she found that out, she would have quit smoking. Hell no! She didn't smoke one cigarette less. Every year, I would have to go to the hospital with a collapsed lung. I would almost die. I would have to take breathing treatments every day. Take all sorts of medicine. Even though my doctor kept telling her, "If you'd stop smoking, he'd be fine". Still, she kept smoking.
