Well, in case you haven't heard yet, I got some of the best news of my life today.
First, I'll give a little background. As most know, I've been
wanting to attend either West Point or the Naval Academy for over 3
years now. However, since statistically they're the number one
and number four hardest schools to get into in the country
respectively, I have known that it might be a stretch. One of the
steps that makes it so difficult is that in order to be considered for
admission, you must have a nomination by a Senator or Representative,
which inclues a completely separate application process. In other
words, no nomination, then no possibility of going to either academy.
Having said that, I found out today that Congressman John Culberson
nominated me for BOTH West Point and the Naval Academy! You
seriously do not know how I feel now that I've received these ... it's
truly amazing. I'm so blessed to have this opportunity and it's
such an honor to be chosen as one of his choices to represent Texas
Congressional District 07.
Thank you Jesus!!
Now, some more good news, but nothing to the magnitude as above.
I was informed yesterday that I've moved on to the next level of the
Army ROTC Scholarship. That means that free college is much more
likely now, which I can't complain about! Also, I got an A in
Physics by the skin of my teeth. It came down to today's test and
thankfully I did well enough on it to pull off the A.
Other things that made the last couple days so amazing: finally got my
letter jacket; Government project is completely over; I like the
weather; Stacey, Daniel, and Lindsey came over to watch Extreme Days
and I thoroughly enjoyed the company; God is so incredible!!
I better head out now. It's late. I'm excited, but sleep is
also important. That way I can celebrate more tomorrow!
Peace out.

LORD, with all my heart; I will tell of all the marvelous things you
have done. I will be filled with joy because of you. I will
sing praises to your name, O Most High."
