So we are alive in Austin. We had the most horrific night. Our neighborhood is fried. It seems that people in Clear Lake didn't even get hit as bad as we did. The reason we left for Austin is that there are 2.5 million Centerpoint customers without power. That's not people, that's customers. There are five breaks in the power lines on our block including our tree that broke. And that was discovered in five minutes without looking very hard. The Centerpoint woman on the radio keeps saying that residential customers are not a priority. We understand that because we see the power lines down everywhere, the medical center. This is very clear. But it's 90 degrees and 100% humidity. AND there is no water. Well it trickles, but you have to boil it. And the water alone is absolutely going to take at least a week. And that would be miraculous because the pumping station that blew up is not exactly sitting in a warehouse. It's house-sized.
Our neighborhood is devastated. We had a limb fall on the house in the middle of the night. But it doesn't appear that anyone is hurt. There is some house damage to other people's houses, but not ours. But it was horrific. especially between 5 am and 6 am. But none of us are hurt. We just cleaned up the yard piling all of the limbs on the street to be picked god knows when. But it's a wall. We are all okay though.
