Participants: Matthew and Gilbert
Can people just hop in?: Ask first?
Where: The nearest IHOP.
When: Sunday after the cooking event.
What: "Two lonely people having a lonely breakfast alone together."
Summary: IHOP says "Come Hungry, Leave Happy". Does it say anything about coming alone?
There was something quite satisfying about enjoying a meal when you don't have to do the dishes. It just makes things so much easier. Almost makes up for the price of the meal, but not quite.
It's doubly satisfying to enjoy said meal when you've done a job well done or you just ended a stressful time. Matthew couldn't quite decide which of those two categories he fell under (felt more like a mixture of both), but he knew that he was looking forward to this breakfast of pancakes that he didn't have to clean up after very much.
And even though it wasn't terribly chilly outside, the inside of the restaurant was quite cozy. As well a pancake-serving establishment on a Sunday morning should be. His order of hot chocolate was cooling on the table before him, and he smiled to himself as he wrapped his fingers around the mug. The only thing that could make this better would be someone to share it with.
