Summary: 15 years ago, Elizaveta's family took a vacation to Germany over the summer. Here, she met little Gilbert. They form an alliance a summer friendship that involves playgrounds, water balloons, and gender confusion. Now with added brats and Sadiq!
Elizaveta frowned down at the pile of sand that was forming in front of her feet as she sat idly on one of the swings. Why was this playground so boring?! Her mother had accused her of being too competitive, and that was why the other kids gave in too easily when she wanted to play with them. It wasn't so much that she was competitive--it's just that they were all too weak boring! She puffed out her cheeks, kicking down the sand pile in order to propel herself backwards on the swing.
Sure, for a little girl she was a bit more outgoing and loud and rambunctious strong compared to the other kids there. She had a bad habit of getting into wrestling matches with several of the younger boys that worked on the farm. But it wasn't like she wanted to wrestle with these kids on the playground! That method of defeat wouldn't involve any sort of challenge for her! Where is the fun if there is no challenge? No strategy (or, well, as strategic as a seven-year-old could get...), either.
"German kids are too stuffy," she observed glumly, letting the swing slow by itself until it was still once again.
