Roderich turned the shower off with a sigh, then proceeded to towel his hair dry. He honestly did not understand why the school forced him to take part in that ridiculous course called "P.E." One would have thought his contribution to the school's music program would have at least given him some leeway in this matter, but it wasn't, to Roderich's dismay. Perhaps the administration was even more lacking in common sense than he had originally thought.

The dark frown never quite left his face even as he stepped out of the shower stall and irritably made his way over to his locker. Roderich had only taken a few steps when he stopped, realizing someone was already there, putting their dress shirt into a nearby locker. Though he thought it a bit odd--he normally did not encounter anyone changing out of the school uniforms at this time--Roderich said nothing as he brushed past the shirtless stranger.

Gilbert paid whoever it was no mind until the guy brushed passed him without a word, causing him to scowl. What, was everyone here too good to apologize now? And seriously, there was plenty of space to walk if no one else was changing.

"I thought even spoiled gits were taught common courtesy," he muttered in irritation as he took off his pants and shoes to shove them into his locker.

Did he honestly just say what I think he did? Roderich's frown only deepened as he continued toward his locker. Considering they were the only two in the locker room at the moment, it could only mean that person had been talking about him. Unless he has a habit of mumbling to himself, Roderich thought scathingly, though even that mental quip had no positive effect on his terrible mood.

"I had thought that even idiots knew how to keep insults to themselves when the target of their insult is within hearing distance." Honestly, this stranger had such a terrible sense of decorum.

So even the privileged paid attention to someone besides themselves. They probably only notice others if they themselves were mentioned, Gilbert thought sardonically.

"Maybe it was meant to be heard," Gilbert snapped back, irritation growing by the second. "And you call me stupid," he muttered under his breath, his somewhat decent mood evaporating.

Roderich's rising ire quickly matched the stranger's irritation. He turned toward the stranger, pushing his glasses up even as he looked his nose down at him.

"If you insist on letting your insults be heard, at least have the decency to come up with better ones," Roderich replied haughtily. "What you have uttered before this only reinforces your idiocy."

Gilbert abandoned his clothes and locker to face the other student, who had a dark, patronizing expression on his face. He observed the prissy boy with a disdainful sneer, and found what he expected: awkward frame and holier-than-thou expression enhanced by the glasses.

“Heh. You look as snotty as you sound.”

The only reaction Roderich had was the slight furrowing of his brows, and a look that clearly said: "I am not impressed. At all." He gave the stranger a once-over of his own, meeting the red gaze with a soft snort.

"You don't look as empty-headed as I thought you would," Roderich said slowly, as if he were truly startled by this observation. "No, you look far more empty-headed than I had first imagined."

As he expected, the condescending expression became worse. There was no fixing people like him, so it was better to be rid of him now, rather than later.

Gilbert sauntered up to the other boy. "And you are looking me up and down, why? Don't give me one of those half-assed answers where you claim that I "don't look like much" or any of that bullshit."

For a split second, Roderich almost felt his cheeks heat up in mortification, but it was quickly quashed by the surge of anger that followed immediately. How dare he even suggest such a thing! he fumed inwardly.

Schooling his expression into that of complete disinterest, Roderich slowly looked him over again, arms crossed over his chest. "You don't look like much," he said dryly, purposely choosing to use the stranger's words. He arched an eyebrow. "I don't believe I stuttered when I said that."

That impudent little... The glower quickly became a smirk.

"Ah, but at least I have something instead of nothing." Gilbert sneered, voice dripping with mockery. “Using my own words against me, as if you think you are so…clever. Someone is a little touchy." He sent a derisive smile to the arrogant boy. "My words getting to you? Don’t bother denying it, your cheeks and phrasing gave you away. Hell, even your actions right now. Otherwise...why would you bother controlling your expression and try to distract me?"

Stepping closer, he eyed the four-eyes with contempt.

"You have something?" Roderich echoed, voice going flat. "I would suggest looking again; I see nothing worth bragging about."

Mentally, he willed his cheeks to return to their normal color, though he doubted the stranger's words were to be believed. Honestly, the nerve of this person! He automatically assumes my embarrassment is caused by whatever delusions he has about his body. Roderich scoffed at him. "You are full of yourself if you believe anything of yours is enough to provoke such a reaction out of me."

This guy was unbelievable and stupid! Gilbert shook his head as his sneer grew wider.

“Aw, is the young master ruffled? Not used to someone speaking their mind around you?” The mocking voice echoed in the locker room. "And stop looking if you want your words to seem believable. Everything you do and say is just echoing what I said earlier."

Gilbert walked back to his locker to finish changing, completely dismissing the annoyance with an arrogant wave of his hand. "Try harder next time."

Too used to people speaking their mind, more like, Roderich thought blankly, after he'd gotten over his surprise. And "young master"? Why on Earth is he even calling me that? He waved the question aside, deciding it was not worth asking.

"Again, you seem to be under the impression that I am actually looking at you." Guessing that the other student was already fed up of their "pleasant exchange", Roderich turned toward his own locker, slipping his shirt on. "You are most mistaken in that respect." He paused. "And, hopefully, there will be no 'next time'; I'd rather not see you again anytime soon."

"Because looking me up and down is not "looking"." Gilbert's sarcastic tone was slightly muffled by the shirt he was tugging over his head. Fucking hypocrite.

Even his words are stuffy and proper. "Finally, something we agree on." After pulling on his pants and tying his shoes, he closed his locker with a bang and picked up his towel. Gilbert strolled by the guy-with-something-far-up-his-ass to leave the locker room, but not before snapping his towel at the ponce, causing the previously secured towel to fall and reveal striped, gray boxers.

Seriously? Seriously? The guy freakin' wore boxers under his towel.

"Someone has something to hide. I guess that explains all your pathetic insults," his scornful laughter resonated in the locker room long after he left.

Roderich was content to ignore him for the moment, since the other student was almost done changing. Soon, the stranger's footsteps echoed in the room as he headed for the exit. Finally, Roderich thought with a mixture of exasperation and relief. This person is beyond irritating.

His relief was short-lived, however, once the towel-flick caused his towel to fall to the ground. He colored furiously as he snatched the article from the ground. "You idiot," Roderich began angrily. He stopped as soon as he realized the stranger had already left. Snapping his mouth shut with an audible click, Roderich changed in record time and slammed his locker shut.

On the way out, he couldn't help but glare around the locker room darkly, as if it were to blame for his irritation. For his sanity's sake, he really hoped he would not be seeing that student again in the future.
