Yong-soo only laughed, as usual, letting go of the pinch-ful of cheek he had managed to grab. Of course he wasn't serious at all, though he would honestly admit to Kiku being adorable. In a little kid sort of way. This would have been unfair, however, considering that the two of them were almost the same age.

At the attempt at teasing and an insult, he blinked. Then he burst out laughing again, laughing so hard that he almost fall over and tears actually came to his eyes. He continued to laugh, bent over, eyes closed. It took him a while to collect himself and he continued to wheeze and giggle. "How do you come up with this stuff, Kiku?" he asked, hiccuping once. "God, Kiku!" He reached out to mess with the other man's hair once again.

Kiku held his cheek and sighed reaching his hand up to lightly whap the Korean on his crown. His hand retracting as he heard the loud laughing come out of him, his eyes wavering as his insult failed to hit.

"I-I dunno... H-Hey, Yong-Soo... Am I, well, you know, do you think I am... well, fit to lead?" His hand moved to his neck, rubbing it lightly as Pochi climbed up into Kiku's lap familiarly.

Yong-soo bore the slap with good grace though he very lightly punched Kiku on the arm. Not for the first time, he wondered if Kiku would ever just give in and finally tackle him. Probably not any more.

The Korean tilted his head a little, sensing that this was not a typical question and perhaps it was wise not to be flippant about his answer. "When you get your ass into gear, I think," he said without too much of a pause. "When you stop being afraid of what others think of you." He prodded Kiku lightly. "It's America, Kiku. Not Asia. You have to not give a damn about what people think sometimes." He then shrugged. "But that's what I think." And that was a remarkable sign of how much Yong-soo had changed; when he admitted his own limitations and his biases.

Kiku reclined back a bit as he was punched, allowing his hand to moved over and rub Pochi on the top of his head, finding no reason to lead their aggression any further. He listened carefully avoiding eye contact for the most part until the end of Yong-Soo's speech. He blushed lightly and sighed.

"I-I know that we are in America it's just-- I dunno... No one ever really showed me how to, how do you say, 'cut loose' I suppose..." He looked at Yong-Soo and smiled, moving his hand off of pochi and instead onto his brothers's shoulder. "You've grown up so much, you should take great pride in that." Kiku acknowledged being the youngest in the room, but had always been, at least since that time, the more mature and passive of their ragtag group. "I would ask how you learned to be so laid back, but you have always been like that."

Yong-soo's mouth twitched. "I don't think it's for lack of trying though," he remarked wryly. He shrugged. "I don't think... you should have to be taught to do that. It's something you just do for yourself." He tilted his head in the opposite direction at the touch. Then he snorted and laughed. "Grown up? Debateable, I say. And I wouldn't mind not growing up more. I found my first gray hair this morning!" Not that it would be possible to tell where it was on his still thick mop of black hair.

He reached out and ruffled Kiku's own hair. "Take it all one day at a time," he said simply. "You've only got today for sure and even then that's suspect." He seemed to be quoting someone.

"Now, where is this game you were telling me about?"

Kiku blinked and laughed, his hand moving from his friend's shoulder up to swat him on the head again, some old emotions stirring in him from their childhood.

"Don't be ridiculous, you don't have any gray hairs. Should I start calling your Grandpa Yong-soo or something?" He paused and took in his words, nodding lightly as he spoke, though mildly to try to remove the sticky Asian from his hair. This feeling between them he had so long forgotten... this feeling of family... if only this could last forever, he mused.

Setting Pochi off of his lap, he made his way over to the Television and flicked on his console. "Already set up."
