And if it's true, and I can't do it...

Then, can I kiss him if I say the answer is "no solution"? Because I spent four hours trying to solve this puzzle, and though I'm not the brightest bulb in the box, I know that if there were a solution, I would have hit it somewhere!

I can get a team of scientists at my best university to prove that there's no solution to this problem, if the lines can't be bent! Sometimes, you have to bend lines to make things work~
