The entire point of the film was to create a satire that would also expose the intolerance and prejudice still inherent in modern-day society while making the audience laugh at his antics. Such an extreme character was necessary to pull latent emotions out of people. I guess my brand of humour (not unlike any other brand of humour) went right over your head, and it's not my fault that the concept of satire is completely foreign to you. I already know that irony is, given your inability to understand why the fact that you have a village called "Fucking" is positively hilarious. Not only that, the character is so obviously a caricature that anybody who is watching and thinks that all Austrians or all gay people are like that is, quite simply, too much of an idiot to be part of the target audience for this film -- and precisely the type of person that was vilified in this film.

Please proceed to step down from your high horse before I begin planning a sequel. If I complained about every single time that the UK was played for laughs, I would do nothing but complain about foreign media.

I wouldn't refer to it as "exploitation" but rather making a passing reference to it, and the reference must be made while people still remember it, or it will leave people scratching their heads. No offence was intended towards the victims, much like how no offence was intended towards any of the Holocaust victims; however, referencing current events, both good and bad, is standard in comedy.
