I do not believe wearing my nations flag upon your feet would be considered disrespectful. In fact, it would probably make his Holiness, the 13th Kundun quite happy to see that the flag is still recoginzed in other areas of the world.

It currently banned within my country and in China, hence, it is not allowed to be shown publically.

Oh, Tibet, even if it's on shoes?

I-I don't know exactly how it feels when my flag is banned to be shown publicly, but my nation has experienced that before our independence and now I can see the flag be hoisted freely. So, be strong, Tibet!

People put their flags on things all the time. From underthings to even bumper stickers on cars. Even toilet seats. As long as you don't place the flag on the bottom of the shoe, I don't see how it could be to demeaning to the nation it belongs to.

Rules pertaining to my own flag are similar to other nations. The flag should be hoisted on all government buildings on Fridays, official holidays, on the inauguration of the People's Assembly session and other times when the Minister of Interior orders that flag should be hoisted. It is of course to be placed on border posts and customs buildings, consulates and embassies overseas.

When saluting the flag, citizens not in uniform are required to stand at attention with their arms and hands to their sides as to show respect. Abusing the flag by any means is viewed as a criminal offense and punishable by law as it indicates the will to the power to the state.

I hope this helps.

Thank you, Egypt! The site you include is pretty helpful, too. I hope with this I can be more careful with what I paint on shoes.

My flag? On shoes?! *a little uncomfortable with that idea* Um... C-Can I ask why you're putting flags on shoes...? It's just... my flag is very important... and the flag laws are very strict... It can only be used as a decoration if, if proper respect is guaranteed, s-so... I guess... if it's not for anything bad... it's alright.

B-But, if you visit my house... there might be a chance you'll be fined; I-I've had some bad experiences with people disrespecting my flag, so... a lot of people might... automatically think you mean something bad...

I-I don't really intend on wearing them at first, Latvia-san. It's just that I want to draw the flags on shoes then I'll put the shoes on the shelf as decorations (since it's an art assignment) ; AAA ; but the shoes are pretty and they fit my size, s-so...

I wonder if it's still okay if I don't wear the shoes and just put them as decorations? If it's still violating your flag etiquette, I-I'll do something with your flag if I already paint it!

...I think... I think that's alright... E-Especially since all the other flags will be there too, right...? S-So they're being treated the same way, and it's just art and decoration, and... I-I... I trust you... that you're not going to, to use the flag for anything bad... because you asked if it were disrespectful or not a-and a lot of people... wouldn't bother to do that...

Whosoever [...] in a malicious manner and at a public occasion or a function open to the public, insults, brings into contempt or belittles the flag displayed for official purposes or the national or state anthems of the Austrian Republic or its States, is liable for imprisonment of up to 6 months or a fine of up to 360 times the fixed daily rate.

Flag desecration is prohibited by law as such an action constitutes defamation of a state symbol. Likewise, if it is unlawful to desecrate an Austrian flag within a foreign nation's borders, my citizens are required to repay the courtesy by respecting the other nation's flag as well.

If you bear no malice in doing so, you are quite welcome to use it as you wish.

I-I better just put the shoes on the shelf if I'm done with them. I'm afraid people will misunderstand my intention.

Thank you for your information, Austria-san!

... Well, I already put my flag on pretty much everything that could possibly have a flag printed on it. Sometimes people suggest that I'm going overboard, but UK does it too, so I don't see what the problem is... Besides, putting my flag on an object automatically makes it 73% more heroic.

I have a code of etiquette for using my flag, but it's really just guidelines. They're not really enforced much, and there's no penalties for not complying.

Wow, I'm mesmerized! The power of freedom so it's really okay for you to find your flag on shoes?
