Question For: All Nations

Question: No matter how many different alcoholic drinks I try, from vodka to beer to tequilla to wine, I can't seem to like any of them because they all taste the same: bitter and disgusting. But you guys seem to like the stuff, so I ask you: what's so great about alcoholic drinks/why do you like them ( Read more... )

Q1: Most alcohol is an acquired taste. I didn't like all of them at first, but some of them have grown on me.

Q2: ... No comment.

Q1: But I've had years to try and like them and yet they still all taste gross! I suppose that that's a good thing, but I've always wondered why people like it so much... Oh really? Which ones do you like best?

Q2: ...Please?

Q1: My favorites are beer and rum, but I like other things too.

Q2: ... I'd really rather not talk about it.

Q1: Mm, I see. Any particular reason you like those two the best?

Q2: *Pout* You can't even tell me what kind of a drunk you are?

Q1 - It's definitely an acquired taste, but I suppose it's easier if you go for the more flavoured ones, or ones with less alcohol content. Since my nation has its hundreds of variations, despite it being a bit confusing for a first timer, there would definitely be a set of recommendations available from the more frequent buyers. I liked them well over time, and it is a part of my nation's culture.

Q2 - ... It would appear that my personality reverses a bit, and I get a little more loud about things, as it were. Fortunately I've been given no mention about embarrassing things I might've done while under the influence.

Q1 - I have tried the flavored and ones with low alcohol content too, and they still taste like all the others (though with a less bite). Perhaps there is something wrong with my taste-buds... So you like them because they are part of your culture?

Q2 - Reverses? As in you get loud and angry? That's interesting! Ah, well there's always still time for something to happen I suppose!

Q1 - Maybe? I heard in some cases, it's easier to like it when you're a bit older in age. And sort of. It began like something like that, but eventually I liked it out of own interest.

Q1 - It relieves me of a bit of stress, too!

Q1 - Maybe I'll just have to wait then. Though, to be honest, I hope I do not ever actually want to drink alcohol... Oh, I see. Do you have a favorite type of alcohol?

Q2 - Well that's understandable; from what I've seen, when people are drunk, they don't seem to do any self-restraining things that cause stress like put up any sort of mental barriers or try to be nice to people who are irritating or bothering them. I suppose punching someone who's pissing you off in the face would relieve some stress too.

I think I shall agree with you that the taste isn't always that exciting. More importantly I think the great thing about alcohol or in fact, any sort of popular drink, are the stories and histories and fun times that go with it. Off the bat, however, I would say that I find Estonian Kali (Kvass in other areas)
more desirable as it can be flavored with sweet mint or strawberries. Its not alcoholic at all, but carries an interesting flavor. Besides, its simply easier to refrain from drinking in front of certain nations whom still say I am too young to be doing so.

My people drink a lot of homemade stuff that they make out of sugar cane and other stuff like that. It's actually pretty good, I think. Though I, um, I kind of wish they would drink it less.

Uh, n-no, of course not! No way. I mean, I guess I kind of get silly, but I've never done anything weird.

N-never.

Silly? What do you mean by silly? You mean that you're like a giggly, happy drunk then?

You were drunk when that happened?

Yeah, kind of like that.

O-of course I was! I'd--if I wasn't drunk, I'd never do that to--yes, I was.
