All day long I think about Germany. July 22 is not coming soon enough. I have to keep looking forward to SSP to get my mind off of it, because it feels too far away.
So SSP is coming up! My youth group is going, and my cousin too. I'm excited. We're going to go work on houses on a reservation in Oregon. We're gonna have a road trip on the way up, and we'll stop in San Francisco, and on the way back we'll stop in Sacramento. I always feel so accomplished and self-fulfilled after SSP. It gives me skills ;) -- Like, I can mix cement by hand if you give me a shovel and a wheel-barrow. Makes me happy...
So here are some more pictures from Big Bear that Heather took. Just click on the red text:
I had to climb under this chain-guard thing to get to the potty at the top of Snow Summit. ha!
This is me and my gramma as we walked around the top of the Summit.
We were watching "Secondhand Lions". Thats me in the dark. Hope you can see it a little.
My gramma, me, and Heather walking through some parking lot. (My gramma's sucking her teeth... lovely.)
Sharing the chair.
We took a picture of our little kid shirts... Batman and Pokemon.
Shopping isn't my thing. I was getting annoyed over trying to find a good heavy jacket, etc.
Gramma was feeling tired (plus I REALLY wanted to drive...) So I drove down the mountain and on the freeway home.
OHHH!! By the way!!
SO, if you've been keeping up to date with all of this, you know that I'll be having TWO families. One for a month in Hamburg, and one for 11 months in Bavaria.
So I got a postcard from the one in Hamburg...! It was soo sweet, and it was written in English (which was relieving). It said: Best greetings from the northern part of Germany and a nice welcome to you! We are looking forward to your arrival and we are sure that you will enjoy your stay with all of us! From, [the family] --It was written in SUCH pretty handwriting. It must of been the mother's, who is a Foreign Trade Merchant (which also explains the good English).
I'm going to go out and get postcards with some pretty california coast pictures and send them to both of the families (I'm ashamed that I didn't do this sooner).
