I posted this onto YouTube yesterday:

It's me singing a song (once alone, and then again singing along) that Yoko Kanno (Japanese composer) posted to her channel the day after the disaster in Japan, unsurprising as her home town of Miyagi prefecture was hit very badly.

And I received this comment:

"Many thanks from Japan ! I appreciate your beautiful, tender singing. I'm all right in west Japan, and hope this song and your sincerity to reach the people in disaster area. Thank you."

That touched me. A lot.

Adam and I really wish that we could do more, but with our financial situation right now we really have to concentrate on ourselves. I hope that the disaster areas in Japan get back onto their feet ASAP. Also, the UK has been portraying the disaster really badly - they have focused on trying to make Japan seem somehow cold and uncaring, rather than showing footage of how much work they are doing to save the affected areas. They are also inducing panic with the nonsensical notion that all of Japan is in some kind of meltdown, which is simply untrue. The majority of the country is perfectly fine and they are now getting back to their daily lives. Really, really bad news reporting - seemingly all because Japan is a first world country.

I shall definitely be contributing.
