Matze bought a car yesterday. He's been going on about it for two weeks now and finally found one yesterday which is a huge relief because he was stressing everyone out by only talking about cars. It's a used Ford Fiesta and he's going to pick it up later today (it all went down really fast) and he's happy about it. We're mostly sitting around at ( Read more... )

He really wanted a car and where he lives (middle of nowhere, busses stop running regularly after 8pm) he really needs one.

Thank you! Sometimes I'm still surprised that I'm applying to Yale. I'd be going as a non-degree seeking student and only for a year. I applied for the Germany-Connecticut Exchange Program at my university last year, putting Yale as option #1 (because everybody does) but there are only seven or eight spots for Yale for all of Germany, so I figured it was a long shot and was pretty content with option #2, University of Connecticut but my university nominated me for Yale and I just completed the last round of applications, so I should know within two weeks if it all worked out.

Oh, and Yale waives tuition if I go through that program. Otherwise, I could never afford it. That's the big draw.

It's very, very cool. and as a non-degree student, I imagine it'll be less stressful and more just 'homg, Yale!'.

More or less. I have to write my master's thesis while there :P But I'll still have plenty of time to be excited about it.
