DEVILS in CELL BLOCK D
As this story is part of the Misfits but doesn't have any central characters in it, I decided to put them in a seperate post (and because there's not so much to catch up on with that). It's not a separate story as they all get the villain tag that they wouldn't get if they were the main characters in general and there are ties to the main story.
And it even has its own name that is lifted from Ed Brubaker and Michael Lark's first storyarc on Daredevil,
Devil in Cell Block D.
Characters
Shane Doyle: Irish-American bisexual inmate. He is cocky, likes to be in control but also has a likable, loyal side to him that is often overshadowed by his psychotic tendencies. His claims to being married change from occasion to occasion and he is visited by various women he may have been or is still married to.
Michael O'Ryan: Irish-American inmate who isn't gay but does what he needs to. He is Doyle's cellmate and Doyle plans to take advantage of him in the beginning but soon realizes that he and O'Ryan are equals. O'Ryan is quiet and doesn't like to explain himself. He is regularly visited by his wife and brother. He works in clothes manufacture in the beginning but is soon sent to work in the infirmary.
Kyle McLachlan: Irish-American inmate sentenced to at least ten years of prison. Young, outgoing, charismatic, likable and always in a good mood. Grew up in Ireland and used to be a tattoo artist at one point, especially friendly with O'Ryan. He works in clothes manufacture.
Murphy: Irish-American inmate. Older than O'Ryan, Doyle and McLachlan, he has some authority among the other Irish inmates and wants moral standards that the rest don't really follow. He is known for his bigorty and racism.
Wittlesey: Correctional officer in cell block D who often finds himself at odds with Doyle.
Andrea Castellini: Italian inmate who has a strong aversion to O'Ryan and Doyle who thinks he knows O'Ryan from somewhere. Drug addict and dealer before getting to prison. He continues his operation within and is regularly visited by his ex-girlfriend Shirley.
Fritz Fleischer: German-American inmate sentenced to life imprisonment without possibility of parole, Fleischer has already been in prison when O'Ryan first came in and has a strong dislike for him. Fleischer believes in ultimate justice.
