not as broken as I thought I'd be

Badgers Business: High Stakes is over. More than a year ago, me and Anastaszia and Erwinlrp decided we'd try our hand at a Firefly-themed larp event. We arranged lodgings at Kampeerboerderij Ons thuis, invited players, allowed them to invite their friends through word of mouth, asked people to be our NPCs, wrote a plot, and then started tying all the player backgrounds into the plot. I pulled in Twilightbanana as catering and Janestarz as photographer, costumer and overal handy fixer. Friday, we arrived at the location and the whole thing became real.

I really have no way to describe everything here. It was awesome and it cost us so much. I'm just going to describe to you this one moment that says it all for me:

It was Sunday morning, my hair was still wet from the shower I took while all the players were having breakfast and going IC. Me and Lanzaned had just finished doing the dishes after breakfast and we plonked down on the couch in the empty living room. Everyone was upstairs for the last scene of the event: the getaway from the space station. We could hear excited voices without really understanding what was going on up there. I put my feet up and thought to myself: Fourty people had an awesome time this weekend, I'm so exhausted I really cannot brain today, and in a moment at the "Thank you and Goodbye"-talk, I'm going to take all the credit. This is the life.

I was hoping to have a quiet week. So Wednesday some Shadowrun, a very normal Thursday and a day out with the Ladies on Sunday. Let's hope I can find time to repair my computer somewhere this week. And sleep, I would love some sleep if my brain will finally allow it.

weekly, lrp
