I seem to have disappeared from LJ for an unnaturally long time. I blame, in order of chronological influence, the sucky PLDT landline (the frustrations of a dial-up connection), the nosebleed-inducing expense of Smart broadband prepaid internet (only to be used when desperate, and when there is money), lab, and football. Been pretty distracted, yeah.
Anywho, I'm waiting for the Barcelona vs Chelsea game, with coffee and ice cream, and praying that my internet load holds out since I seem to have gone online early. Simultaneously writing the Kagami/Akabane fic that has taken forever, and eating ice cream and drinking coffee. The dog has disappeared.
Oh, and I want to put in a good word for Alexandre Dumas. I'd forgotten how much I enjoyed reading him (er, seeing as I read The Three Musketeers when I was in grade school - can't recall if it was the Gene Kelly movie that made me want to read the book, or the other way around). I came across a copy of The Vicomte de Bragelonne (do not ask me to pronounce that) last week, and it's still got D'Artagnan, Athos, Porthos, and Aramis, who are all considerably older but still are embarking on yet another adventure, this time the restoration of Charles II to the throne of England. It turns out that there are a host of Musketeer books between The Three Musketeers and The Man in the Iron Mask, and I would love to get my hands on Twenty Years After and Louise de la Valliere.
Fiction writing has stagnated, sadly, though I somehow managed to churn
this out tonight. Is a song. And is happy, for what the lyrics are, haha.
Will surface again when match is over.
