OK, two things: What the is up with Wisconsin passing the gay-marriage ban? I leave the state for 3 months, and THIS happens?
Second: Whoever 717-389-7869 is, who are you, and why did you call me at 3 in the morning? And how did you even get my number?
Anyway, things are going alright. I have two of my three semester project (term paper) topics figured out for sure. I know what the third one is, but I need to discuss it with my profs first.
For those who care (which is nobody):
For Seminar in Environmental Ethics, I'm exploring Riccardo Rozzi's ideas on the reciprocal links between evolutionary ecological sciences and environmental philosophy (incorporating the work of Frank Golley) and exploring how Arne Naess' concept of Gestalt ontology both supports and limits the idea of these links.
For Topics in Modern, I'm writing a paper exploring John Locke's role in the 'Modern project' set out by Bacon (mastery over nature), and exploring the issue of Locke seperating immediate experience from reality, in essence taking the real world away from us, and how this opens the way for Newtonian science.
For Environmental Citizenship, I'm going to heavily criticize the book "Redeeming Creation" (by Van Dyke, et al.) as a biased, uncritical, and ineffective attempt to bring Christianity as a positive member into the environmental debate, and explore alternative, and in my opinion better, attempts to do the same thing (this is the one still needing approval)
I also want to try to do a paper for a conference on Hick's religious pluralism and religion in environmentalism, in light of 1) The Humean/Darwinian/Leopoldian model of the expanding moral community, and the implications it has for both Hick's pluralism and environmentalism, 2) the general elitism and close-mindedness typical of religions, and 3) how number 2 interplays with the current movement for pluralism and unification within the American environmental movement.
Wow... that's a whole lot of geekiness. Oh well.
So I have a super ton of stuff to do by December 14th. But it should be alright, since I plan to write like a madman over Thanksgiving break. Oh, and I'm writing the religious pluralism paper over winter break (if my profs like the idea), so...
The end.
Hope everyone is well.

P.S. 5 weeks!!
