Oh I'm in such a good mood just now. It's great. Listening to Biffy Clyro just now and thinking how good the gig will be. I've not been to a concert that I can really jump about at in a wee while so looking forward to it. Despite my terribly jolly mood just now I'm going to moan anyway. Was in college the other day and the conversation somehow got on to evolution. The teacher was talking about how wrong it was that some schools in America only teach the bible's creation account and do not allow evolution to be taught. I'd like to point out that I'm not saying this is right or wrong, we should all make up our own mind on things like how life got here, even if it is just that you don't really care either way. What annoyed me was that he made it clear that he felt it should be the other way round and creation by God should not be taught at all, dismissing all religion as "hocus pocus." Now I know everyone is entitled to their own opinion but to come away with a statement like that then say people(I believe he was solely referring to religious people mind you) need to be objective when it comes to this topic.
I wasn't actually going to discuss this, but looking it up on the internet it has just made me so angry. I've never seen such one sided discussions. Even the article entitled Arguments Against Evolution has clearly been written by someone who supports the theory. Which brings me to my next point: evolution is a theory not a fact. When I say the word fact I mean it in the way that normal people use it: something that is true. This is different from the scientific term, in science something can be a theory and a fact at the same time. It is for this reason that I get annoyed at scientists who describe evolution as fact because people hear that word and accept that there has been some irrefutable proof offered to support evolution without ever questioning it. Even in class when I pointed out that evolution was a theory I was met with a number of complaints about this being untrue. I now come to another thing that annoys me: people who accept anything they hear or read as absolute fact. Certain people who read The Da Vinci Code are good examples of this. Even when I've been out in the ministry(chapping doors, in case you didn't know what it was) people, in some sort of effort to correct me, have asked me if I've read this book like if I had I would've seen how wrong the bible is and rejected my faith. Somebody also once pointed out to me that you can see Mary Magdelene in The Last Supper painting. I was totally at a loss as to how this is relevant to the Bible. The only explantion I could think of is that people think that Da Vinci was actually present at the last supper and so the painting is as reliable as a photograph. There's really no need to expand on the general stupidity of this explanation.
My goodness this went on far longer than I originally intended and if you're still reading this then well done, if not I don't blame you, I'd have given up by now aswell :)

Anyways take care all, I'm off to watch Gladiator. Goodbye.
