So it's been almost a month since I graduated and I still haven't gotten around to posting anything. I kept saying, "I'll wait until I have more time," but we all know that never really happens. I don't think this will be a terribly long entry since I don't have any of the photographs in front of me, but I should have a goodly collection of them up on facebook of google soon (I'll post the google picture link when I get them up).
So on Friday May 2nd there was the honors graduate ceremony wherein they gave us all a fairly large chunk of bronze and Dr. Silverman made up rants about each one of us (mostly using information that we had provided him when we signed up to attend the ceremony. That night Ben and Lalita took me out to Ybor and got me completely plastered on long island iced teas that I was too drunk to realize weren't waters.
Saturday came... early. In the morning there was the engineering ring ceremony (they give all the engineering graduates a little steel ring to wear on your pinkie). The speaker went on and on about corn and how it was the fuel of the future while we (and by we I mean the electrical engineering group) heckled mercilessly. It was awesome. Then I finally got to graduate. The walk across the stage was much shorter than I expected and they didn't even give us anything as we crossed, but it was still good. Except when the girl who crossed in front of me passed out right after having gotten off stage. She turned out to be fine though.
My older brother came down with his wife and daughter from Georgia, so we all went over to Dad's house for the after party. Dad, Josiah, Warren, Ann Marie II, Kieren and I were the only ones that swam though. (Which may make us the least intelligent because the heater on Dad's pool was broken)
After that life has pretty much consisted of work (up to 62 hours last week) so that I can pay off my last month of school. I'm thinking I'm going to start sending out applications in early June for engineering jobs and see what I can find in Orlando or Tampa.
I hope everyone else who updates more often than me is doing well, and I will let you all know when the graduation party will be.
