I went to B&N this morning in an attempt to procure another book on directing, and instead came home with the new albums from Chevelle and Arcade Fire. I've been caught up with reading
this webcomic, and since the main characters are indie rock fans, names get dropped frequently. I've checked out a few of the bands, and Arcade Fire really struck me. Thier new album, Neon Bible, reminds me of old goth and new rock in a kind of southwest setting. Definitely worth picking up, IMO. I've had the Chevelle disc on for a while too. Saferwaters rocks me to the core. This CD sounds like Chevelle walked into a studio with early 90's-era Bob Rock at the helm and used A Perfect Circle's gear. Crunchy bliss. :-)
