So I was thinking today, yes I do do that from time to time.  The Gregorian calendar system sucks, it has a very American feel to it. Yes, I know it was created long before the Americans came along with there feet and there inches. Metric is by far superior, but that is a topic for another entry.

First off, what the hell is a 'birthday' and how can we have so many of them? I was only born once, not 21 times! So this year, on September Fourth, I will not celebrate my 22nd birthday, but my 8035th day. Many of you at this point are probably wondering how I got on this thought pattern. Last week was mine and Julies 1 year anniversary, and we were not able to spend it together. So I got to thinking, why the hell do we celebrate 365 days together? Why not 372, or 215? I know, our days and years are dictated by the earths rotation and the time it takes to revolve around the sun. But why should the earths trip around the sun dictate how often we celebrate being together? What if in 10,000 years it takes the earth 4000 days to make a rotation? Does that mean people will celebrate a 'year' together for our equivalent of 10 and a half years? I think that is completely stupid. So next week, when hopefully me and Julie can do something Friday night together, I won't be celebrating a year together a week and a half late. I will be celebrating 376 days together. On time!
