Beach, blades, beer, chicken wings & fries :D

I can’t believe I let C.OW sucker me into thinking about picking up rollerblading so that I can work towards achieving (a particular) end :P

Anyway, the gal is mad. She taught me blading 101 WITHOUT any guards, on concrete (read: painful if I were to fall) ground, and made me walk though unevenly tiled flooring, soil, grass and even across drains. She deemed it all-terrain training. But come’on, all-terrain training is a bit much for the FIRST lesson isn’t it? :S

I still remember the first and last time I donned a pair of blades was when I was 15. They were my bro’s. Once and never again I told myself. So much for that! :P Am just glad I survived the lesson unscathed (I think I have those 2 skating stints at Fuji Ice Palace to thank). Could amazingly stand up easily (without uncontrollable slipping) and even made small gliding movements. What I need now is to build my confidence to take bigger strides and a shi fu who will teach me the rest. C.OW has since conveniently (and purposefully) relieved herself of teaching duties.

We ended up beering at the beach cabana for the next 3 hours and tucking into chicken wings and fries. It was a great way to spend a late Sunday afternoon to evening! :D
