Yesterday at lunch we left, on school buses, for the coast on our Concert Choir retreat. It was a terribly long bus ride, but I survived. Once we were there we hung out at the beach for a while, went to Izzy's for dinner, rehearsed (first time I had ever sung the songs with the choir this year), and did some peer group activities. We were having a mad dance party complete with strobe lights and loud music last night until somebody complained (come on, who actually wants to sleep in a hotel?) and we had to chill out. It's kind of hard to feel like you've gotten to know everybody in a group of 80 after just one night (especially after the Dorians retreat), but it was all happily done. This morning we had some breakfast, hung out for a little while, and went and performed at the retirement home. Once that was over with, we went and walked around in old town Newport, getting some lunch and shopping a bit etc. etc..
Fun, yes, but I'm glad it was only one night. I'm needing a good, solid, two-days worth of weekend right now. Moment of the trip: riding the bus to Izzy's...I take a video of Noah, who starts laughing when he realizes what I'm doing. then the bus driver stops suddenly and he actually falls off his seat into the aisle...and I got it all on video. That moment made the whole weekend worth it. That and late night TV, of course.
I'm listening to the South football game on the radio, and he keeps calling Alex Yarbinec "Alex Yerbanivik." It's really rather funny, to be honest....
Oaky, wlel ttha's taht. Tormoorw is Struaady. Yay!
