OH MY!!!!!! Today was a monumental day!! CAN WE SAY NAPA VALLEY WINE!!! The Hohmann’s, Kelly, and I got THE VIP TOUR of Peter Michael’s winery!!! This is the Rolls Royce of wines! No kidding one bottle of Les Palvots goes for $115! And that was before they got a 98 from Wine Spectator. So yea Carolyn baby-sits for THE PETER MICHAEL wine maker so she got the mad hook up! This place isn’t even open to the public, and we got the exclusive tour, straight from Mr. Wine himself, oh did I mention that he is FRENCH!! And has 2 adorable bilingual kids!! PRECIOUS! I got Claire talking in French to me and I about melted it was soo cute! Back to the wine, speaking of which, we got to taste the 2oo4 vintage STRAIGHT OUT OF THE 100% French oak barrels! ALL OF THEM! So we could be the only people besides the employees that have tasted that wine! AND WAS IT EXLECENT!! I had about a glass full and was VERY happy afterwards! OH MY! I couldn’t believe that we were driving around the entire property, including up the mountain where you can see into the entire valley, especially over-looking the Peter Michael estate. GORGEOUS! It was a perfectly beautiful day. When I asked Luc about getting into the winery, he “short of the long of it” told me that they and most wineries like to hire students from UC Davis or Fresno. So go get a degree of you are serious…hmmm….
But also to start out by working the harvests and putting an ad in the wine country paper, there was some website too, maybe winelisting.com. Yea food for thought! We did have a rousing discussion about French religion and politics. He agreed that there is a religious vacuum, and stated that Islam is growing popular because its followers are seen as faithful. After the GRAND VIP tour we had lunch with the kids in the park and “played” some soccer. Well Carolyn and I entertained the kids kicking the ball around. I called Dad to tell him about the winery because I knew that he would appreciate it. THEN we headed to the old Christian Brothers stomping grounds,,,, hahahah get it grape stomping! Now Greystone cellars and home of the Culinary Institute of America, CIA. The picture I have from the hostel in San Fran is from there when it still belonged to the CB’s.
Then we went to downtown Napa for the Christmas Parade which wasn’t anything that special, and next to the 5th family meal in 3 days! Tonight was Mexican which was perfect for what I was hungry for. Later Carolyn, Kelly and I played Cricket on my board which of course I won, but only barley, Carolyn was close behind. Katie her younger sister, was also there, who is trouble just waiting to happen. She is incredibly flirty and suggestive. YIKES! (HA!! The word of the weekend). Yea Carolyn and I took a walk under the moon light, as it was full yesterday and reminisced about old camp stories and sang oldies but goodies! Getting closer to something…what I don’t know…. Tomorrow Church then FRISCO! My third time since coming to CA this summer! GOD THIS IS SOO INCREDIBLE! HOW? WHY?? YOU are good and your love remains today!!
