This is something that should really make people's stomachs turn. How much of an upset will the disappearance of a major food source be for the ecosystems we're just sort of stripping bare without any concern for what is actually going to happen?
What blows my mind is that people honestly believe this will have no effect on humanity. As if we're completely above and separate the natural world in such a way that a major extinction event won't kill us all through horrific starvation.

Now I'm going to go watch the guy in the parking lot who doesn't seem to understand that his truck can't handle 2 feet of snow try to leave. It's funny.
