So I had my first ever trip to the emergency room last night! Exciting!
Since Saturday morning I've been having an allergic reaction to something. I don't know what, as this has never happened before. But my legs had a red rash on them. I took benadryl for it and it was getting progressively better until about midnight last night. I woke up thrashing in my sheets and it felt like my legs were on fire. They itched like hell and it hurt so bad. I got out of bed and turned on the light, and my thighs and about half of my calves were completely covered in the rash. It looked like a red, raised continent on my legs. I had it on my stomach and all over my back, and it was starting to make its way down my arm. It hurt. I told my mom and she took me to the emergency room, where I was told it is indeed an allergic reaction. I also got a magnificent shot in my arm (which hurt :P) of some kind of steroid. Today I'll have pills of it too. I woke up this morning and the rash is almost gone. It's now basically just a funny discoloration of my skin. Which is a huge relief.
The best part is, even though I didn't go back to sleep until two AM (which means I've had around four or five hours of sleep) I'm feeling perky! Yay for steroids!
