Ginny strolled down the street in Diagon Alley on her way to the book store after her visit to Weasley's Wizard Wheezes. She had come by today in order to take her brothers to lunch and pick their brains for tips and tricks for pranking, hopefully without them knowing what was up. She still wasn't sure if she was successful or not ( ... )

Nate saw the entire event happen before his eyes in slow motion but he just wasn't fast enough to catch the younger redhead. He jumped up to help but before he knew it all of her things had been picked up.

"Are you okay?" he asked, leaning down in hopes of at least helping her back up. If he hadn't been so wrapped up in his own thoughts then maybe he could have been a true gentleman to her. But, of course, he just a few steps behind.

Ginny blushed harder as the guy on the bench stooped down to try and help her, only a few seconds late as she had just gotten the last item in her bag. "Yeah..." She trailed off as she noticed how close to her he was. She blinked, cleared her through and forced herself to continue.

"Yeah. I'm fine. Just a bit scrapped up but thing a quick spell can't fix." She tried to push herself up but her leg got caught under her due to how close to her body her bag was. She ended up wobbling stupidly for a second before falling back down on her arse.

She felt herself blush even harder as a curse burst from her mouth in frustration. What was with her today? She was not normally so clumsy. On top of it she was sure she now looked like a giant walking, talking tomato.

"Merlin!" Nate moved faster this time and put his hand on the girl's back. He did his best to steady her. There was no telling which way she'd fall next but this time Nate was going to be ready.

Though, he couldn't help but smile. Who ever this girl was, she was just as adorable as she was clumsy.

"Let me help you," he said, offering his other arm to her.

Ginny tried to smile gratefully at him and not blush even more as he helped her to stand. She didn't know what had gotten into her today but whatever it was, she now wanted to climb under a rock and not come out until this bought of clumsiness was gone. She didn't need to make a fool out of herself in front of this guy any longer.

Once she was situated on her own two feet once more, Ginny shifted her bag on her shoulder and took a deep breath, turning to face this helpful stranger. "Thank you."

She managed to get that out without sounding like a complete fool or blushing any further. Which she viewed as an accomplishment.

Nate straightened out his coat and stood up straight, which allowed him to tower over the younger girl by half a foot, at least. He smiled back at her and tried to meet her eyes.

"That was quite a show," he said, trying to lighten the mood a bit. The last thing he wanted was her feeling embarrassed."I'm actually amazed I didn't take us both down trying to help."

Well, so much for not blushing more. At this rate she was going to win an award for Fasted Time to Turn Into a Human Tomato. She closed her eyes and took a deep breath, silently trying to will her face back to a normal shade.

"Umm...sorry about that." She stammered out, opening her eyes to look at him once more. "Thanks for the help."

She shifted her gaze from him to the book store. Once more she was on her feet and her destination in sight. She stuffed her hands into her pockets and took a few steps towards the book store. This time her eyes also scanning the ground ahead of her as well as checking around her to make sure she didn't run into anyone.

For a moment Nate was left speechless. Just as he was about to open his mouth again, she was gone.

Wow, this girl can move...

As he sat back down, he spotted a little book. With the papers sticking out from it, whatever it was, it looked important. It was the perfect excuse to catch up and redeem himself.

He got up and instantly spotted her fire red hair in the crowd and took off after the girl. She wouldn't get away this time.

"Hey, miss? Sorry..." As he caught up to her, Nate put on his best smile.

Ginny was about to step forward and open the door to the book shop when the guy's voice stopped her. She turned around to see him a step away from her holding her day planner. Her brow crinkled in confusion. She could have sworn she had put it back in her bag. Obviously not.

She saw his smile and smiled back, despite her shyness doing its best to overwhelm her. "Oh! Ummm...thanks. I would have missed that." She held out her hand for the day planner.

Nate made a move to hand it to her but then stopped. He realized that the moment he gave it back she would just run off again. Instead, he pulled open the door so that they could move inside and out of the cold.

"You left before I could ask your name," he said.

Ginny frowned slightly when he didn't hand her back her day planner. But she followed him into the book store none the less, anxious to get her day planner back.

"Ginny. Ginny Weasley." She told him as the door shut behind her. "What's yours?" She asked as she happily took in the sight of so many books spread out around her. The book store was her favorite shop in Diagon Alley. It was a fountain of knowledge and adventure bound a few hundred pages at a time. Took took a deep breath and filled her lung with a smell of paper and ink.

While she took in her surroundings, she also kept glancing at her day planner. She would really like it back right away but it seemed like this boy had other plans.

"I should have guessed you were a Weasley," he said, hoping it wouldn't offend her. Nate had gotten close to her older brothers, the twins, in his sixth year when Nikki had dated George.

The warmth hit him instantly. He hadn't noticed the numbness in his fingertips until the feeling began to return.

"I'm Nate Miller." He couldn't decide if he was ready to hand back her planner. The moment he did he was sure she would run off.

Ginny rolled her eyes. Everyone always had that reaction when she told them her last name. You would think no one else in the world had red hair and freckles.

His name sounded familiar to her though. "You don't happen to be Natalie Miller's brother do you?"

"That would be me," he said, nodding. Gryffindors knew him as brother to Natalie while Ravenclaws knew him as brother to Edmund and Lizzy. And thankfully, Slytherins didn't know him at all.

"You two are the same year, yeah? I hope she didn't cause you too much trouble."

Ginny smiled and shook her head. "Not at all. We were friendly." She glanced back at her day planner. Was he ever planning on giving it back.

"So..." She trained off and gestured to her planner. "Can I have that back any time soon?" There was a bit of an edge to her voice. She mentally shuddered. As sad as it was, being without her day planner was starting to put her on edge. It wasn't as if she actually needed it right then. it was just knowing that she was without it that did it.

"Only if you promise not to run away like I'm a leper again," he said, crossing his arms over his chest. It was moments like this that Nate realized just how tall he actually was. He hoped he wasn't coming off too strong.

"I mean, unless you have somewhere to be." He mentally kicked himself for backing down.
