Well, it's new phone time.
In this area, Alltel was bought out by AT&T. Ever since I had a cell phone (when I moved out to Colorado in 2006), I've had a pay per minute plan, which has worked fine for me. I don't really use my phone very often, and once I stopped paying $6 a month for texting (which I only used maybe 2 or 3 times a month), I only really had to get a new phone card every other month. But I've been using more minutes recently, and with this merger, I decided to upgrade.
The first thing I had to do was change from a "pay as I go" plan to a monthly plan. From the documents I've read, AT&T was kind of vague about what they were doing with people on a "pay as I go" plan, so I went in yesterday and changed to a monthly plan. Since I'm now on a monthly plan, I'm now in AT&T's system and I can get a new free phone from them. So, being completely inept about cell phones, I have no clue which one to get. Here are my options:
Blackberry Curve 3G 9300
Samsung Rugby II
Palm Pre Plus
Samsung Eternity II
Samsung Strive
Nokia 6350
Samsung a777
Pantech Link
HTC Aria
Those are all the free options available to me. My current phone is something completely simple and basic from Alltel that I got from them about 2 years ago, and I'd like something fancier and able to do more. So any help as to what I should get or not get would be greatly appreciated.
