Ummm, wow. It's been almost a month since I've posted. I'm not really neglecting my journal, I just didn't really take the time to put anything down. So I guess it's time for a little bit of catch-up, right?
I ended up reading a total of 131 books last year, pretty much obliterating my goal of 100 books (I won't post a list of all the books I read last year, but I do have a list in my profile). I think I'll do the same thing again this year, except I'll try for 135 books (I'm already off to a slow start, so I doubt I'll make 135, but I have to try).
And just so this doesn't get lost in the previous paragraph: I'm also looking for some new books to read (with this new library, it's just overwhelming to go in and just try to randomly find a good author or book). So, just give me any old request and I'll probably pick them up the next time I'm at the library.
I got a jury summons the other day. In theory, I would have to go in this coming Monday. But from talking with friends, it's highly unlikely that I'll have to go in. Now watch as I'll time it just right that I'll be involved in some high-profile trial that will cause me to miss a week of work or something.
Haven't seen any good movies recently. That's the not-so-fun part about the new year. Nothing good really comes out in the first few months or so (although I am really excited for Coraline next month. Here's hoping that we'll have our digital projector in so we can watch it in 3D). The only movies that I've seen since I got back from Minnesota are Yes Man (which was funny) and Paul Blart (which wasn't that great). And for some reason, people are excited for the Underworld movie that comes out this week, and I think they're crazy. Inkheart looks like a much better movie to me.
And hey, Lost is back. I don't have tv, so I can't watch them as they air. But ABC has the new episodes up the morning after, so I can watch them before I go into work. I've been trying my best to avoid spoilers, which is kind of unusual I guess (even though I've seen some spoilers). But hopefully this will be another good season.
And finally, don't forget: we're all traveling through time. It just happens to be at the same speed and in the same direction.
