Finally At Home For the Summer...
Well it's official now, I graduated and I now have my Airborne wings. I am a qualified Paratrooper. Go me. Too bad I didn't get paid for any of it, but the experience was well worth it.
So things have been hectic since coming back home on Friday night. I ran into Josie working at Denny's on Friday night when my mom decided to take me out for a very late dinner so that was cool. I also ran into several other people that I know while I was there. After eating I just went home and drove my car for the first time (which is beauty), had a beer with Tanya and my mom, and went to bed, I was exhausted. Saturday was spent with my family, we went down to Wright Park and went swimming and stuff at the beach. Surprisingly, Lake Erie is the cleanest I have ever seen it in my life and the water is wonderful. I had a great time being down there for the first time in years...even though the Lake is only a few minutes from my house. It's just that usually the lake is really dirty and and you can't swim in it. I'm glad to see that things have finally gotten better. The water's really clear and nice.
I went to Quality to go and check my schedule and pick up a few things we needed at the house for dinner. Big mistake. Turns out the girls who were working office and service desk that day decided to quit and leave the store. So, I was asked to start on Sunday instead of Monday like I was supposed to. More hours for me, so I guess that's a good thing...well it got worse I'll explain later in the post.
After that my mom and I made an excellent steak dinner and went out together to go hear some of the bands playing downtown. The one at the Ramada wasn't that great but the one playing at Walleye Willie's was pretty good. They played covers of Pink Floyd songs and they sounded really good. That was the first band I have ever seen do a Floyd cover before. It was nice spending time with my mom.
Sunday I worked and was re-trained on the new registers and it wasn't too bad. But because those two girls quit I'm being moved up to the office so it should be ok minus the fact that I'm not going to have much of a summer. I was only supposed to have 32 hours this week and I now have over 40. Oh well, the money will be nice. I would update more but I don't have time to right now, my mom needs the phone. I'll take some more time tomorrow.
