Livejournal... the new escape from Facebook/Myspace/Twitter

Jul 21, 2009 13:31

So, I'm at the beach and other than enjoying myself with swimming, kayaking, building sandcastles, and eating and drinking constantly... I'm revisiting LJ, it's raining today, on and off, so I thought I'd check ye old livejournal. And I totally realized how much easier it was to update this page with a sweet little app. So I downloaded the LJ app for my shmancy macbook pro, and away we go. My most likely un-noticed return to LJ. I must say, I feel like Twitter is truely my ability to talk to absolutely no one. I've actually thought of pretending it's an imaginary friend that I send text messages too when no one else is around. Which is pretty close to reality if you ask me, what with having 2 people following my so called "tweets". LJ now seems comfortably archaic. Which if you ask me is lovely. Nobody obsesses over LJ, or is constantly refreshing their homepages as on social network sites. Alas, I feel still a real void of true friendships... with so many so-called friends on friend networks.. not many real relationships have amassed through those venues. And ultimately perhaps if I were to use LJ as a method of outward projected meditation of the mind. Hmm...

Perhaps.

This beach house is amazing though. I look at the computer screen from the bed, and with the slight look to the left, I can see the water in the bay less than 15 feet away.

Yawn. Rainy days.
