Lawsuit predicted in model's fall from bus
NEW YORK, May 11 (UPI) -- A lawsuit will is expected in the case of a Russian supermodel who tumbled onto a New York freeway when she opened the wrong door of a moving bus.
Tatyana Simanava was hospitalized in New York with a broken arm, dislocated shoulder, cuts to her face and head and friction burns suffered when she fell out of the bus traveling 40 mph on the Gowanus Expressway Tuesday.
"I think someone will be getting sued, for sure," model Alex Shanklin told Thursday's New York Daily News.
Another fellow model at New York's Next Models told the newspaper Simanava's injuries were "the worst-case scenario."
"Messing up your face can put your career in jeopardy," she said.
Simanava told police she became disoriented coming out of the bathroom and opened the wrong door of the On Time Elite bus.
"We have been in business for 16 years and there has never been anything like this," the founder of the Hoboken, N.J., bus line, Linda Safir, told the News. "I have no idea what happened. You've been on a bus? The exit doors are clearly exit doors."
