Yikes! But I know how to use a fire extinguisher now! Please Please read directions on your fire extinguisher NOW, because it is really hard to read tiny print when you are using the fire you are trying to put out as a light source :))
Ok, for the lazy ones, I'll outline the most important parts:
1. Pull out the metal pin thingie-ma-bob that is next to the lever. That will allow the extinguishing stuff to come out once you squeeze the trigger.
2. Another important thing, stand back from the source of the flame as you are trying to extinguish - it might splat back at you if you are too close. Different extinguishers recommend different distances, but aim for at least a couple of feet.
3. It's tempting to aim at the flames, but aim at the source.
