projects update
Sooo....been sewing. I'm almost done with Amy's Ren Faire costume - which I made out of crepe satin, silk, and stretch velvet. What was I thinking? Oh, I know what I was thinking: "prettyyyyyyy!" However, it's turning out absolutely gorgeous, and I am very proud of myself. Now it's just hemming, hand-stitching, grommets and ribbon threading. I wanted to finish it by yesterday, but I can't find my grommet tool and I didn't want to do all the finishing touches until I had hemmed it for her. I'm also going to make her a headpieace of some kind and a purse. I get all the remnants, so I'm happy. Gorgeous material, oy vey. I'm going to make some kind of beautiful child's dress out of most of it, I'm sure. Some slippers possible, a bag. That sort of thing. Almost done with 2 loli dresses as well; now that I've got the machine fixed I can sew them up. Just have to sew in the gathers and zipper into the black, which is so victorian that ASOUE fans will love it. The maroon floral dress is perfect for fall, so I am finishing that one up lickety-split. I really want to focus on my quilt, so I can enter it into the art show, but I need to sew up some samples for a designer who wants to hire me as her seamstress. That will be a very fun job. But right now, it's break time. Fable, anyone?
