No One

Red Autumn leaves fall on the ground,
And cold harsh wind blows them away.
You walk alone around the city.
The ships returned and stand at bay.

Unlike the ships, you're still in struggle.
Lost in a storm of hopeless doubt.
You rent a place here, but is it really
Your home, if there is no one.

No one to hold you when you're crying.
No one to understand your thoughts.
No one to see that you are dying
Of never ending days alone.

A year passes...then another,
And still there's no one by your side.
You bare not live any longer,
Deciding to, in death, to hide.

You bare your legs, grass cool and soothing.
Below waves crash against hard rock.
A second thought crosses your mind,
You put it under keyless lock.

Now coming closer, you start to shiver,
More of not fear, but of cold.
Rain drags you down, you do not protest,
But simply jump off, silence braking up.
