Half-term

Dear all,
Welcome to the delights of half-term! This glorious week is sent to all teachers and trainees to give them a much needed break in their quest to instill discipline in the nation's children, whilst embedding some knowledge that they will probably never need to use again, deep within the recesses of their subconscious. In my half-term holiday, i have finished my dissertation, cooked dinner for paul's parents and gone punting with them, attended my cousin's baby's christening, gone punting with the PGCE people, sent the film 'the pacifier' which wasn't quite as good as i'd expected but still made me cry, and visited newnham to watch bad girls. Today i have relaxed, continuing my enjoyment of novels once again, having so far this week read 'ghost girl' by torey hayden (9/10), 'the little prisoner' by jane someone (7/10) and 'goodnight mr. tom' (again) by michelle magorgan (9.5 /10 as it made me cry lots when zach died). I am currently now reading 'live bait' by p.j.tracy, who i've just found out is a pseudonym for a mother-daughter combo authorship. Weird. I can't imagine writing a book with my mum, and calling myself 'N.C. Sharon' or something.
Later highlights of the week include celebrating the end of paul's exams, going out with some trainees from my first school, showing sian's friend miranda around town, going to a meal with paul's boss, visiting gillypops in durham for the weekend, and then getting home in time for formal hall with the others. Ah, bliss. What was missing from that list? Ah yes, lesson planning for monday. Well, what are free periods for, eh?
Speak soon, Nats.
xx
