Sooo...i've been told to write again, so here goes. I'm still busy teachiing - hello to the trainee teacher who replied to my last entry from abroad - and at the moment i'm applying for two jobs, one at impington and one at ely. I would really like to go to the one at impington cos they have lots of good things, like teaching the International Bacclaureate as well as A levels, and they let you teach geography and re as well as history in years 7 and 8. I know the thought of me teaching geography will be amusing to some of you who know how bad i am at it, but i think it'll be good fun, and quite funny if any of the kids ask me where any country is. The job at ely is a bit rough, but i think i'll cope. I don't think it'd be much worse than the school i'm in at the moment though, where just the other day one kid set another kid on fire. Nice. Nice kids. Some of them really are nice though.
What else has been happening in my life? Not much really. I went to the first aid annual dinner on tuesday night at don pasquale's which was quite yummy. Other than that i haven't been out in ages. Oh except to see ocean's twelve, which was amusing and had a good cast but wasn't the best film ever. Not like million dollar baby, which was really cool and totally deserved all the oscars it got. I thought it was fab, a boxing film that could actually make me cry! Not that i don't cry a lot in films, but i hadn't expected to cry in that one. If only sian had been there with her box of tissues for me.
That's about it really for now. Except for happy mothers day to my mum. And to paul's mum who i sent flowers to, which she was pleased about but paul wasn't. I quote: 'but she's not your mum'. Hehe. I see her as a sort of second mum so it didn't matter to me.
In other news i am poor. I have spent all my money on books recently, and the odd dvd, and now have £36.59 to last me until my pay check clears, which considering i only get paid next friday may be difficult. Especially as i'll need to spend about £35 on petrol this week. Ooops. Paul will have to buy the groceries this week, although technically it's his turn anyway so i don't feel guilty.
I'm really looking forward to the two of us going to rome, the most romantic city i've ever been to probably. I can't wait to go back there, and to not have to stay in a youth hostel this time, but in our very own apartment. Not that i minded the florence youth hostel really, it had hot water and all, but the rome one wasn't very nice. The foro italica, don't go there if you like hot showers, toilet seats, duvets, locks on your locker or porter-service. Oh, or breakfast that hasn't formally served as a bowling ball in a competition a year ago - those rolls were ridiculous!! Anyways, i'm looking forward to visiting the old jaunts again, the vatican (although please don't let the pope die and we be staying right near his funeral, that'd be a bit of a hastle!)the nice pastry shop under the pavement, the elusive spagna steps, the ice-cream...oh, giolitti's, how i miss thee!!
Right, have to go. Must plan lessons for tomorrow. Take care, bye bye, Nats.xx
