This week i've been getting back into the swing of things. I haven't done hardly any work for my course since i've got back, which is veyr naughty but i bought a jeffery deaver book in a 'book for a buck' sale in america last week and stupidly started reading it, meaning that i haven't been able to do any work until i finished it, which luckily i did last night. Today, however, has been a shopping day. I've bought a junior trampoline for my cousin's little girl to cheer her up as she's been ill, a vibrator for a friend for her birthday to cheer her up in a whole different way, and a new pair of shoes to replace my falling apart ones. I thought it was about time i owned a pair of flat shoes, (more practical for work) so these are some black suede flat loafer-types. Very comfy, and i managed to get a 6 1/2 size, which is great cos the 6 was tight, and the 7 too loose in the shop. Why can't all shoemakers do 1/2 sizes? It would make things so much easier. I forgot to change my canadian dollars back into english money, so i'll have to do that next week at the post office when i send gilly's present. I'm teaching at a primary school all next week with a year 1and2 class which should be very sweet. I'd love theoretically to teach young kids, but i think i'd get too attached to them, and i wouldn't be able to specialise in history, which geek as i am i want to do. So secondary schools it is for the rest of my life, at least with teenagers swearing at me all the time and stuff there's no chance of me getting attached to any of the little blighters, and i'll be glad to get rid of them at the end of the year i suppose. My dad is still ridiculously over-protective of me and says that the first kid to be rude to me he's gonna be up the school and knock them out. I don't think that will help my career prospects however, so i'll have to keep it quiet, when, not if, i'm verbally abused. I'm looking forward to this year though for many reasons, such as living with el paul, staying in cambridge, a city i love, and the teaching. Plus the money for doing the course, and hopefully some satisfaction from passing the course (if i do pass it). I'm not looking forward to the amount of paperwork, going for job interviews and pretty much having to plan the next few years of my life, like finding a place where either both paul and i get offered jobs, or where i can work and he can do his PhD, so we can live together. I'm sure it'll all work out eventually. Happy birthday to Philip for yesterday, Gill for today and Sally for Sunday. See you all soon i hope. Hunger strikes, i'm going for lunch. Byee. x
