Help Japan: Fundraisers
Now, normally, I don't do this kind of stuff. However, since I don't have much to give of myself, I want to share a couple places that are trying to help raise money for disaster relief in Japan.
The first fundraiser that I'm going to talk about here is called Super Hero Time. The reason why it is called this? It's spearheaded by fans of Japanese tokusatsu shows and franchises. This includes Riders, Rangers and Rambles, Henshin Justice Unlimited and Japan-based CS Toys International. Even if you are not of the Power Rangers/Super Sentai, Kamen Rider, or various other toku fandoms, give it a look. Mr. S of CS Toys himself will be handling the money and giving it to those foundations that will help people in need. Even TJOmega, who does reviews of toku things gave his two cents on this one
And he brings up a good point too: whatever you do, do NOT google "donate Japan" because there are already tons upon tons of scams that are already out there. Below I'm putting a little widget for the Super Hero Time fund so if you can, please donate there, or even spread the word.
Now this second one that I'm putting up is for an auction livejournal who's proceeds go helping Japan. You can participate as either an artist or a bidder. The information to do this and how everything will be done can be found via this link. The auction will start March 14th and go until March 26th.
If you are an artist, you contributions can include
~stories (fan or original)
~art (fan or original; includes all but web graphics)
~graphics offerings (icons, site layouts, mood themes)
~audio (fan related or original)
~food
~other various offerings (i.e. crafts, clothing, jewelry, etc.)
