Oh my god... I just finished watching the Dream... It was the final dream of the first set of musicals (they're starting a second run fairly soon, starting with Fudomine). It was the final show of the final "first dreams." And I just have to say...
FOOGING AWESOME!!!!
Crack to no degree ever SEEN in ANY of the lives (and yes, I'm including the near kiss from Live 3). Performances were just... Through the roof amazing. A beautiful trade-off mid-song from First to Fifth Generation Seigaku that had both teams crying (and me) that was so much more meaningful and heartfelt than the trade off from fourth to fifth in Live 6.
Kentarou was amazing as ever as Sanada (no wonder he's Mr. TeniMyu!) and the originals for Akaya, Niou and Yagyuu were the ones performing for the entire show (though you do get to see the alternates). KENN makes an awesome return as Fuji Yuuta and JURI was there as the original Akutsu Jin, which was great. It was great to see Yanagi Koutarou out there. He was a lot more steady than the last time we saw him back in Dream 3, but you could tell he wanted to do more than just what he was doing. And just by how they were acting, you could tell that First Generation LOVED the encores that were performed - and if you don't know the two songs by now then where have you been since Dream Live 4 in 2007?
And guess who were the daily guests?! Second Generation Tezuka Shirota Yuu and Konomi-sensei himself! And I know for those of you who know me how bad I harp on Yuu because he's not necessarily MY idea of a good Tezuka and because Second Generation got the most action of all the casts (two lives, two Hyoutei matches, Yamabuki AND the poor excuse for a Prince of Tennis movie *gag*). But hearing him sing the ballad that he cracked on during DL3 (any TeniMyu fan remembers that)? Absolutely beautiful.
And did anyone know that Taito and Takagauchi could talk that high? Oh my god that was just... O_O Jaw-dropping. And the playing around with Taito's racket was cute. Absolutely cute. Oh, and Tuti... Some of you know that I didn't exactly like his singing voice... Well being in the Bleach musicals must have done him some good because he was actually pretty good this time around, and I do mean he was good.
And I wish for the life of me I could actually translate Japanese half decently because the stories that were shared sounded just so interesting! I mean I could see the actions and understand a little, but not enough to get the gist of it. For instance, with Shirota, one minute he and Ueshima were talking about how he had broken out in tears during the song in Dream 3 then next thing I know he's doing an impersonation of Saito Takumi singing "Katsu no wa Hyoutei." What? And first cast kept bouncing stories back and forth and they sounded funny, but I wish I understood because at one point that darned Inui notebook was involved.
My rating for this dream? Definitely a 10 out of 10! Tons of awesomeness with hilarity to boot. Best out of all of them by far! If you haven't seen it yet, check it out!
