So long 2008 Beavers, it was quite a ride!

And just like that, baseball season is over here in Portland.  2008 was a great year for the Beavos in my eyes, the team played pretty well despite the constant shuffle between here and San Diego.  A lot of my boys have spent time or are currently in San Diego, which is very exciting.  I guess the season isn't truly over for me until next Tuesday, when I will be at the Padres game rooting my boys on.

A lot has changed with me since the beginning of baseball season, and in a lot of ways, I think baseball really changed my life this year.  I made some great friends at the park, and it was hard to say goodbye to everyone after that last game.  I am such a different person now than I was in April, I really, finally, let go of all the anger that had been in control of my life for so long.  Baseball gave me a healthy outlet to talk to a great friend, let go of my anger, get back to God, and meet my sister again.

We've renewed our seats for next season, so the 108 crew will be back together again come April 2009.  Right now, it seems like a dream, so fuzzy and far away.  I guess that's why I took so many pictures at the park this year, so that every time I miss the boys during the off season, I can look at them in a picture and remember how good this year was.  At least I know that my friendships will remain, which to be honest, has been the most important part of the season.

Tomorrow I leave for 2 weeks in sunny southern California- for Disneyland, Universal Studios, SeaWorld, the San Diego Zoo, the Padres, and family time.  I am looking forward to just enjoying this vacation, to spending time with my little cousins, with my mom, and catching the Padres play :)  I am sure there will be tons of stories to tell from this vacation, so hopefully I will get the chance to write them and share them when I get back.
